Now... Tumors, benign or malignant... They only be come are malignant if they are able to move to new parts of the body, grow quick and cause damage. If they are a non moving tumor, grow slowly but are in a area they cause damage, would they be considered cancerous? Malignant tumors are considered cancerous. Or would it be considered a damaging benign tumor?

Since it's remaining in a localized area and growing slowly, I would classify it as a benign tumor. Benign tumors can still cause damage--in fact that's what a lot of your brain tumors turn out to be. But they lack the ability to spread from one organ to the other throughout the body, as malignant tumors often do. Benign tumors are typically treated with surgery if they are treated at all. A doctor should always test a tumor though, to double check and make sure it's not cancerous. One can never be too safe in that sense.

Ah that would make sense. Now Im just asking this not to sound crazy but on the basis, I have a bone tumor it is benign but it is damage to ligaments around it... And well I call it benign and all but I was curious on what they could or would define it is if it was being damagin to something thats not a ligament. Like you said, brain tumors. For mine, I wish I could have surgery on it... it would fix soo much stuff but they wont do it!

Technically, all tumors are cancerous. Cancer is when cells start dividing abnormally. It's when a tumor is malignant that they usually do things like kemo therapy. Benign can still be dangerous, and if they are they can usually be taken care of with surgery. Many times people can live with benign tumors with no problem.

I can get how it can be "cancerous" being cancer is a group of cells growing un controllable. Any way, benign or not... They suck. Someone named mine, haha... Its name is Tia. :P Its the only fun I get outta it, not something people would wanna live with.

I had one on my leg, just above my knee. Everyone called it my third knee because it looked like I had two right knees. They removed it simply because it was beginning to affect the muscle in my thigh. If I weren't involved I athletics, I could've had it for life.
