As It Happens (http://asithappens.host22.com/)
(A Sub Group Of Blue Link Media)

I am making a News website called As It Happens. It will post the most important news, Like wars and elections, so you don't have to read irrelevant news such as "Slight decrease in cheese sales". (Right now) it is displayed as a feed of stories where there is a Title, story and category There is a share menu on the right where you can share the page (Soon to be story) to either Facebook or twitter (Might at google+ and email). I might also add a function where when you click on the story, it opens a new tab with the whole story (And maybe pictures). Also, I could add a commenting system.

The theme of this website is ease of use. I find news websites like the BBC confusing to find what is the main story.

I have only spent two days on the website so far. And I think it is OK. There are a few design features I would like to add to make the page look nicer, but on the whole I like it.

If you have any suggestions, Please comment below!

If you didn't see the hyperlink in the title, You can click here (http://asithappens.host22.com/)

Looks good, need any Java related help. PM me :D

And the logo looks very professional, but the rest could do with some work.

Thank you :) I've only been making the website for two days, So hopefully design failures are excused :P I don't think I will add Java (Unless you mean javascript). Its quite a slow script :/ Thank you anyway :)

Do you have any suggestions for design enhancements?

Also, I am thinking of adding things like a navigation bar on the top for FEED WORLD SPORTS WAR POLITICS and more so you can choose what you have on your feed. Also, I will add a search bar shortly.

My favorite thing is the background, I think it looks really nice seeming that I made it :P

Again, thank you for your feedback

It's a good idea, it's just the execution that needs a bit more work -- which I realise you only spent 2 days on it so far.
I suggest making the article titles lead to the story pages, as it took me a while to find how to see the whole story. Make the sharing links more prominent, or nobody will see them.
For the search, I don't know how you intend to do that, but I hear that Swiftype (http://swiftype.com/) saves time, and can be integrated in all kinds of ways.

I like it. Out of curiosity -- where do you get your stories from? Do you copy-paste them from the BBC(or others), or write a summary yourself?

If you would like, i'd love to write some stories on the website, this kind of thing is good to put on your UCAS forms for university.

If I am honest, the graphics along the side make the text hard to read because the graphics catch your eye too much.

looks good so far theres a message failed text on ur email part of the sight before u even submit anything. id suggest like a revelence bar added so like a full bar is must inportant most revelant and like half is okay and no bar is least revelent and lest useful post. let peopl decide this with a 1-5 system then be able to sort by that bar. also let it reset eather weekly or monthly. ive got a friend that does this stuff look on the site dailyfalsefacts.com if u like any of the script from there i can get it for u he likes helping out website artists.

It looks quite good so far, but i would consider changing the background to something less distracting, also with 000webhost make sure you back up your site from the control panel regularly, they have a nasty habit of taking sites down if they get too much traffic.
