railsimuator.com have released the latest version of their railway simulator, now known as Train Simulator 2013, and not to be confused with Trainz railway simulator 2012 (Different games entirely).
Now I am not the person who buy's any game the moment it's out. But I did have the previous game (railworks 2). Now after trying for forever to get that to work, yesterday 'steam' (ironic name) demanded updating, and left me a wonderful little present....
I must say I was completely flabbergasted that I now had a game that worked. On my Laptop
I can run it in fair detail too, although if you want the water or lighting effects on you best had a decent gaming rig.
So is it any good?
Well it's a train simulator. It does everything you would expect, drive trains through a variety of scenarios and weather situations. But yes it is. There is a wonderful level of detail in functions, cabs etc when compared to the rival Trainz.
I knew how to drive the trains, anybody could do that if they had a basic knowledge. What I look forward to getting to grips with is the complex, yet more resourceful editor. So far I managed to set up three trains on the track, and a couple of signals. Half an hour backwards and forwards. CHOO CHOO!!!

Anybodyelse use a train simulator? Want to share your thoughts? :)
EDIT: Downloaded Blackpool tramway, now need to figure out how to add it.
