In my opinion, sexuality is something you're born with. But homosexual/straight behaviour can be more/less influenced or encouraged by you're family/social environment etc.

I think that until we find DNA evidence that peoples sexuality is determined before birth, that the only thing we CAN say is that it is environmental.

I think it's a combination of genetics (hormone levels) and environment. I think a lot of our behavior is environmental, but there's compelling evidence to suggest chemical levels have an effect too.

A question no one knows the answer to! Personally, I think sexuality is the culmination of all the emotional interactions you've had with your parents over time. It's the accumulation of exeriences with people you've been the most emotionally intimate with (your folks) that determines how you experience yourself, and who you seek for emotional gratification and closeness.
I do NOT believe that people 'choose' what they are, I think it' s more of an awareness that occurs.

It's a proven scientific fact that homosexualit is "caused" by a lack of a certain hormone secretion from the mother when the fetus is in the womb.

I have a strange situation that just jumbles up everything :P
My dad left me at a young age. I think that might of influenced my sexuality to where I want to be in a relationship with a man and that's how I grew up. Just a thought.
And no, I don't think that we are born this way. But then again, how else could it have been...So really, I don't have an opinion :P I just don't know...and with things I don't know, I don't try to push for a reason for something that I can't prove myself.

I think its not just innate (from birth), but also based on ourselves. I think our decisions in our lives help decide our sexuality. I think if you have more experience around guys, or more experience around girls, you become attracted to one side or the other. I think we're all born bisexual, with a little lean towards one sex, and our choices throughout our childhood and adolescence eventually lead to our sexuality. I'm not sure we ever really know our true sexuality, even when it seems for sure that someones 100% gay, they still may have feelings for a woman. I think its programmed into our brain, but its restricted access, and two different codes lead to two different answers. If we crack one code, we're homosexual, if we crack the other, we're heterosexual, if we crack neither, we're either narcissistic, or have no sexuality at all, and if we crack both, we're bisexual. Although yes, there are other sexualities, like paraphilia, these either sexualities are different, as they don't usually involve loving a man or a woman, but deal with specific types of love, or loving inanimate objects or non-human things (i.e. animals). Yeah, my theory is crazy, but still, I'm crazy, so put two and two together and you obviously get five!
