OK so I want to buy either a 69 dodge charger with a general Lee paint job :D or a 69 GTO Judge with an orange paint job. Which one would you guys buy and why

I would definitely go with the GTO. Just on the basis the charger looks like the general lee, and it's over used and cliche. Make the car your own if you get it. But i'd still go with the GTO because you just don't see that many, and lines flow better on it. But the charger does have that badass factor and a reputation.

You probably won't even be able to buy the insurance if thats what you want for your first car trust me. I tried get a 68 mustang and the insurance was going to kill me it would have cost me more in insurance through high schoold than it cost to buy the car. If you want a good first car that has some muscle I would go with a 70s muscle car like a 75 cutlass, 75 elcamino or a 74 ranchero.

Hey man I hear ya, but you still might be able to get one of those while your still young but you might have to restore it yourself. What I did was get a cheap truck with cheap insurance and then buy a classic I wanted. So you might be able to buy one and restore it ( its a lot of fun to rebuild those old cars).:D

You can get it insured as a second vehicle, it should be less than half what it was going to be.

I just talked to mom about the only problem if i did want to sell(What the hell is she thinking?) everything would have to be original to get anything out of it. now the problem is even though id be able to use my family to find the parts becasue most of them are mechanics and my dad knows a few mechanics even at that though id have to pay out the ass to get the parts. i mean im not going to rebuild it from scratch im going to get one that needs some restoration and go from there.

In todays market the modified, unoriginal car are selling for the same if not more than just an all original car (as long as its done to quality)
But as long as you have the body, a good engine and trans you can basicaly get it up and running for under a thousand ( minus good interior and paint). Getting a car up and running and in primmer is not hard and can be pretty cheap. Just do the essentials first, like the drive train and gauges, then go back and do the body work (cheap and simple just time consuming) and interior. Thats how me and my friend do our cars.
If you have any money saving questions there are tons of forums out there for doing everything yourself, if your family might not know something. I'd recommend the HAMB its got a lot of good stuff on there, even though its more for hot rods and pre 1964 cars, you can learn some valuable stuff there.

Get the first one you can buy the cheapest. But when I got my project car (1950 Ford F1) I was looking for a mustang. Long ways off what I original wanted, but a whole lot better than a mustang. So you might not end up with either of those but something odd that no one knows what it is.
If you do want to get a car running in about 3 months you will have to work your ass off to get it done. I have had my truck for 2 years and I'm just now getting done with the cab ( I did some custom work on it). Its a whole lot more work than you orginal thought it was going to be. But well worth it:P

You will eventually get it done. Just don't lose interest in it, and try to work on it every day even if its for 15 minutes because it will add up quick.

Mild restoration jobs are pretty easy to come by just make sure to check every square inch of that body for bondo and for half assed worksmanship. That bondo can make what you thought was an easy restoration your own little hell. Thats how mine was and is.

For that it better be almost done (depending on what it is, and I don't know how much cars go for up there) or at least running with no body work. But that seems like a lot to me for a project.

That car will not go for anything less than $20,000. It has a reserve on it and its nice. You need to look at selling history, not what the current bid is.
Here is what the current average is This shows the current market value. (http://http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/statsexplorer.cgi?year=1969&f1=price)
