what are peoples opinions on marriage
i have been thinking about marriage alot lately and i am wondering is it really worth it... would i be happy.. would i end up divorced.... would i get screwed over.... i mean if i were to marry my boyfriend i know he wouldnt do those things to me theyre just general questions i would ask...

so peoples opinions......
would you ever consider marriage.. and if so why?
i would want to do it because if means a strong bond or commitment to only one person....

My opinion, it's for some people and for other's it not.
I used to think marriage was just sticking a ring on your boyfriend's finger and giving him a new title. But I see that differently now.

Being a wife, being a husband, is fucking symbolic and binding. Your vows to each other as husband and wife (husband and husband, wife or wife; just know I'll be using the terms applicable to my sexual orientation. I just don't want to offend anyone : D ) It's like an eternal promise to each other and is more to me than rolling over to your boyfriend and saying "I'll love you forever", because it's the first step into being forever. You're binding your soul, proclaiming to the world that you'll be forming a unit with another and forever be a team. Forsake all others, to hold and cherish, whatever you promise to them you promise for life. It's a big commitment, to agree to be 100% and open with another for the rest of your life, to take care of them and be a part of each other for the rest of your life. To be the one that has to make the call for them if they cannot, to be the one to rush to their side in their times of need, to be their support and love.

It's not playing house, it's finding that other half of you and gluing yourselves together to walk as one. I'd love to be married, and if my boyfriend and I continue to grow as we are together, and I hope he's the other half I'll be marrying. Come storms, come health issues, come financial issues, come divorce, I don't give a damn. I want to experience it all with him.

If I were with someone I really loved and who I felt really loved me, I would get married. Why? To show them how much I love them. To let them know how much I want them to be by my side for the rest of my life.

Marriage is a declaration of love, to me. It's a life-long commitment to each other.
