Why do people at school avoid me?

I've been in a new school for about 3 months now and I barely have any friends. And no one to sit with at lunch. I'm not really outcast either; I wear casual clothes like everyone else. I've been told I'm attractive a few times before but people also say I look mean. I don't talk much when no one talks to me, but the truth is I love to have fun and meet new people. But it seems like people don't want to talk to me, why?

try smiling more often. if people have said you look mean, maybe your just passively intimidating them? worth a shot.

This is a hard one to answer.

My advice though would be to join a club or take part in something that interests you and then talk to the people at that club or place.

Alternatively you could just sit down at a table who already have people at it and just chat to them.

Meeting new people is always a little awkward and making friends can be even more awkward.

SInce people always say you look mean I recomend next time you get a chance, stare at yourself in the mirror and learn to make your blank face more happy looking. I just tarted a new school in August and my way of making new friends is to be different from the rest of the school. I wear these small little clip on fuzz ball things in my hair as ears and I also wear knee high converses and on the first day of school someone came up to me and wanted to be my friend and now we are the best of friends. I recomend not botteling up. The next time you hear a interesting conversation going on just randomly come in and make a comment. Hope that helps!

take part in some after school activities
that usually helps. ive amde alot of friends that way

Barely any friends - does that mean you have a few or what.

Maybe the others are kinda shy as well or just as you say you look mean.


try a bit of a smile and talk to others as well as trying to just be open.


It can be hard - new school every one else in groups but you can and will make friends

You say you don't talk much. That may be why. Talk. Be funny. Show people that you are a fun guy.

a few things. IF you looked pissed generally people will avoid you. If you're not talkative that could be a reason as well. try to loosen up. Get to know one person, that will probably lead to a few more and then a few more
