and it was like,
"mom, i just want you to know.. that lately i've been struggling with religion. i feel that i am a christian now, and i talked to someone from that concert and they want me to tell you.. i've been struggling with my self harm for about a year now. i need help."
"what does that have to do with your religion?"
"i don't know, just thought you should know...."
she said "i should. keep me in touch. please, but where do you do it?" and i told her. then she texted me when callie was in the room and said "what do you use to hurt yourself?" and i told her and she said "i love you eric." and i told her that i loved her too. i'm just..... so happy that it went like that.

Wow! You have such understanding parents. Im glad you told her:) I have a few friends that cut and one of my friends told her parents and she got grounded. I fell so bad for her because it only made it worse

congratulations for taking that big step
im sure that you feel amazing to have that weight lifted off of your chest
i never got to tell anybody they discovered it themselves seeing my scars and fresh markings... but then again i never had anybody around me who cared except my bestfriend who is also a cutter. my boyfriend takes no sympathy for it... thinks its childish... but everybody has their own reason for self harming :)
anyways good job man great news telling yur mom

I don't think I've ever chatted with you on here, but I'm happy for you too. Sounds like an amazing outcome. All the best for you and your mum.

im so proud of you that you took that step. i would have never been able to tell my parents, they found out themselves when i was doing dishes... instead of being supportive, they grounded me. Im so glad it went so smoothly for you :)

So nice to read a story like this with a positive end. Made me smile. Congratulations on having the courage to talk to your parents. That would have been so hard for me when I was cutting.
