frozen if im not mistaken is where you cant recieve any more rep because you have recieved the maxx.... i have seen a few members on here that are frozen.. i know that there is a difference between retired and frozen
retired is when you have basically well left vt for reason and your account is retired.
and frozen is what i think i explained above.. but if i am wrong i am sure a mod will correct me or another member

Frozen is when you receive a certain amount of infractions, 75 if I'm not mistaken, and you are temporarily banned for about a week. A mod will be better able to explain this than me...

A user is frozen when they have either:
(A) Accumulated too many infraction points and they have earned a 3 or 7 day freeze (or a temporary ban) .
(B) Have been frozen by a staff member for either seriously breaking rules, are here for the sole purpose of advertisement, or have done something serious enough to be banned but a senior staff member is not around at the time to ban them .
(C) They are under the age requirement to sign up at and have been frozen until they are of the age to sign up.
or (D) A senior staff member has frozen them for a set amount of time.

Frozen has nothing to do with rep....it's basically a temporary ban. :)

To add on, people can also request a freeze for whatever amount of time, and the length a freeze can also vary, depending on the situation(If not requested)

There are other instances, like if they request it, or if the person is not 13 years old yet. The freeze is usually lifted a few months after the thirteenth birthday.

The others have explained it well, but I got frozen when I had 50 infraction points, but I had a few warnings, but I wasn't smart enough to listen to it, and I was frozen for a week, it sucked, but it sure taught me a lesson :) .
So basically you'll get frozen if you get a couple warnings about something from a mod, but don't listen to them, or accumulate enough infraction points.
You can be frozen for a couple days, a week, a month, a couple months, or even a year or a couple years I think, depending on the seriousness of the offenses you commit.

I just wanted to add that accounts here are never "retired" or deleted because of inactivity. It would cause a lot of confusion in older posts and if an older member wanted to come back, which some do every now and then, it would suck if their account was gone.
