So firstly, move this if it is in the wrong section

So ever since my dad found out my weight, he has been telling me that i "weigh too much" I am 6'2'' and weigh about 223 pounds, an optimal weight for someone in the 220lb weight class for wrestling. but my dad does understand that. He is a runner, and nearly all runners are lean, have long legs, and smallish torsos. but i am a tall short legged, large torso, long armed person. Also i am a wrestler so running for me is like a runner playing American Football. he also says that i have to lose it and become around 150lb to 170lb, which with my diet is impossible. bu the thing is, i have nearly no fat, my entire torso is pretty much only muscle. so i can't just drop down about 70 to 50 lbs. and i am getting tired at his comments. but i can't say anything at him, because then i get on his bad side. not a good idea. even though i could take him down, i don't want to get on his bad side.

no need for replies, but if you want to you are welcome to, just wanted to steam of somewhere.

Muscle is far more dense than fat. It weighs so much more. We know a girl about my height, 5 foot 6 inches, nearly 190. She's thin but built, all that weight comes from her muscle.

You don't need to lose weight and doing so would risk your health. You're little fat already with all the muscle, and eating less or dieting, that muscle will have nothing else to do but sit there on bones that will grow weaker.

You don't need to respond to your Dad. No comments, or nothing. Just keep wrestling and let him go sprint up a hill.

Exactly. You're fine the way you are now, and your weight comes from the density of your muscle mass.

Your Dad obviously doesn't understand how different your sports are and that muscle is heavy. Just keep doing your own thing, because you're absolutely fine.

This,

However, I'll add something. You need to at least talk to him once and explain whats going on and maybe let him talk to the coach of whatever wrestling team you are on (if you are on one).

Then if he doesn't see reason then do what FreeFall says and ignore his comments.

as other answers have said yes its muscle density is heavier than fat

so maybe your Dad just sees the weight and not the logic behind it and your sport -

Guess its time for some examples maybe - does he know your teammates
or coach - maybe just a few other wrestling buddies round and a general chat about body types - I say this as its not confronting him or shoving it back its just to let him see -

Hope this helps
