There's no real magic words you can use when talking to someone you like- she's still just a normal person :P Just initiate conversation as you would with anyone else, start a conversation about something you like, or ask her a question about something she's working on, etc.

just be outgoing and talk about music, movies, tv, something you'd both probably be interested in. if you've never talked to her before i would open with something school related.

I also find it hard to start a conversation but once you get to know her its easy but for now dont always ask questions just start something about tv or if you both like the same music talk about that and hint a little bit that you like her but dont ask her out yet trust me thats a bad thing until you get to know her quite well

if you ask a question and she is giving you short answers, she probably doesnt want to talk to you. so keep that in mind.
