It isn't at all a "stretch", it's just got to be relaxed enough...I bet you've launched a turd wider and longer than most penises, so it's just a matter of relaxing the muscles that are used to being expanded...Yes, it can really hurt if someone rushes it, but it can feel really good if it is taken slow. If you do a little bit of research you can easily confirm that a lot of straight couples use anal sex as an alternative where the guy is particularly big because you can actually accommodate longer and wider penises more comfortably than the vagina.

You don'y have to be a bottom if you don't want to. But everyone is not going to have it all fit there first time. It will 'stretch out'. But if you are uncomfortable with this position(be a bottom) then you can be what ever you want, and do what ever you want.
