How do I ask her out/talk to her

It's this girl that I like or is interasted in and she's in one of my classes and the GSA club (gay, straight allience). I'm really shy and never talked to her before so how do I approach her and get to know her better? Please help.

I am a straight girl, so I would have no idea how to approach a women. I think the best advise I can give is go up to her and bring up music. Majority of people love music sobthat would be a good start off topic then ask her her number and slowly get to know her.(:

Say hi and if she replies, ask her about homework. Like this. "Hey, do you know when that Science paper is due?" Then, "Don't you hats decimals?"
