I know you're probably going through a tough time in your life, and you're really stressed. This my sound cheesy but try meditation, I used to cut myself, and sometimes drink because I've seen my dad cut my brothers throat.... Meditation though really works, it calms me down so much... Please try this, I nearly cry when I hear of other people hurting themselves..

Edit: If you don't know how to meditate try to watch a few videos on youtube. Also, it's been 2 years since I've hurt myself on purpose...
If meditation doesn't work well for you, just anything that calms your mind will work..

Just try and find distractions. Keep a doodle book with you at school where you can scribble, write or draw, just keep everything inside and let all your feelings out. It's good as a release to get things down and not keep them to yourself or it feels like you've got the weight of the world on your shoulders.

As said above find anything that may calm your mind. Find that place in your head, no matter how cheesy it sounds, where you are at peace with yourself. If it helps try and blank out the surroundings, if you're allowed and it helps then music is a very good distraction for most people. School is a little harder but just being around people should make you feel like you can't self harm - there's no privacy anywhere - make that something that motivates you rather than something that's daunting.

I hope you keep your streak up. Tell us how things go and as you've said, it doesn't matter if you relapse, no one is expecting you to quit first time. What is important is that you pick yourself back up and start over, VT will be here if you need somewhere to fall back on.

First off, congrats on your one week.

Somethings that can help distract you from these htings at school is focusing on the lesson a bit harder. Then you could write a letter, read a book, take a quick walk if they let you, or just go talk about it to the counselors.

I've found that extreme pinching has the same effect of cutting to me though that's because I pinch with those giant paperclips with the handles that are for big stacks of paper. Sometimes, this doesn't work for me if I'm very upset, which is when I go back to cutting.
