affraid to wear shorts

I'm 13 years old and I never wear shorts in the summer, I'm
a jeans & pants girl, I have nice legs. I just feel kinda of slutty
wearing them and I feel kinda naked and like people R stareing
at my legs. My Mom and girlfriends wear short short
all summer long and they are constanly naging me to start wearing
shorts, Well summer was over in Ohio and I thought I wouldn't have
to worry about getting naged about wearing shorts untill Spring. But My Mother got a new job in Arizona and we just move here. It's still in the 90's
here and all the other girls and women are wearing short shorts everywhere.
She is naging me 3 to 4 times a day that I need to wear shorts. Today
My mom is wearing some new short shorts. and she is telling me how much
cooler she is wearing them and that she thinks I should wear them too
and get over this. She tells me I got you a few pairs of shorts and tells me to put a pair on. Anyone was else have feel like this ?

I hate wearing shorts too. I just feel overexposed. I've always been a tomboy for the most part though so that may be why. I also have a really big ass so, unfortunately, I can't wear them often.

I say give it a shot. I'm sure you'd look great in them.

Hey it's ok. I'll be 19 this and still cannot go into public or even around the house when wearing a spaghetti strap shirt without some sort of short crop cover up. Only last year did I buy shorts that go mid thigh, the rest are Bermudas : p

You wear what you feel comfortable in and frankly your mom's creeping me out. If she were concerned about you over-heating, that's one thing. But she's so pushy on it, it's making me feel like she wants you to show your body off and you two can be the "cool sisterly-like mom and daughter". Just tell her you don't feel comfortable in them. If she says that's ridiculous or silly or get over it, just thank her for invalidating your feelings and ignoring your comfort zone and sashay away.

I don't think wearing short shorts is slutty. As long as your butt is covered, i don't see a problem. But if you don't like wearing shorts, that's ok. I don't like wearing skirts because i don't feel comfortable and i don't care what other people think.

I believe you should try a short short one day when your out like at the mall, then after the day ends u reminence on how u felt about the clothing, sounds awkward but it helps haha, ull fry up in pants there btw so i think u should just go out and give it a shot

Yeah I think you should give it a try... theres nothing wrong with push your comfort zone a little!! try it out and if you hate it you can always give the shorts back to her. but I bet you'll love it. i wear shorts like that all the time!
