Going the distance

Who else here is in a long distance relationship with someone they've never met in person? Is this a bad thing that we haven't met?

But honestly I would never want to date anyone I've never met in person or long distance. I would rather date someone who I know personally and can actually see the person physically everyday.

I've never been in this situation, but I know two people who are in a long distance relationship together. They are very happy together. I think it's a great thing, especially when it can make the difference in someone's lives.

Yes, this exactly. People can pretend or build their own 'Internet persona' that they present to you, and it's difficult to check. It would be a lil bit better if for example, you've really met the person physically, then you guys pursue the relationship on the Internet due to the distance (like someone moved away, or something.)

But if you truly feel for the person, then there's nothing to stop you, however the situation is a little bit different than conventional dating, so you gotta be a lil bit more careful too. :)

That was my concern when we first started dating, but we talk on Skype daily and i talk to her parents as well as her sending a picture daily too, so I'm pretty sure she is who she claims she is

i personally have never had a LR but i know people that have. they end up badly epsesialy [sp] if they never met them in person

I dont think I could do the long distance thing. Anything over an hour drive is too much for me.
