Why is it that when someone posts a story, the thread gets locked? Really what's wrong with it?

Im guessing you are mostly in P101 and story telling is not allowed there.

Do you mean dirty stories?
It's because we don't need this to come up when somebody searches for "sexy teen sex erotic story." Which it might now because I said this. but also, this place isn't for sharing stories, because sharing stories has nothing to do with any of the topics we have here. It has nothing to do with puberty, which is a common (and not very.. smart?) misconception.

When a thread is locked for "storytelling," it is referring to any story of a sexual nature. If you read the "FAQ" section of the site, you will find this mentioned under "Content":
Explicit Content: Explicit content is prohibited on the forums. This includes but is not limited to: pornographic images, pictures of self harm injuries, and stories of a sexual nature.
This isn't an erotica website, it is a teen help website. Our purpose is to help people through a variety of situations, as well as providing a supportive community for them to participate in, not to share sex stories with each other. Because, quite frankly, that's just inappropriate.

Generally when someone tells a story in puberty 101 it usually about a sexual experience or something similar, in which they usually ask "Has anyone had a similar experience".
The reason we lock these is because it is almost or is erotica and is inappropriate which we don't allow. Also these stories can attract some unwanted attention. So we generally run a tight ship when it comes to users telling sexual stories.
We are a teen help site. Not a place to share masturbation stories with or sexual stories. So that is generally why we don't allow sexual stories.

I would just like to add that while some stories may be necessary to understanding the question being asked, we really do not want this place to become a hangout for pedophiles or anyone of that nature.
