Does beauty exist intrinsically or is finding something beautiful a reaction, or an emotion if you will? Existing only within the person who is "reacting" rather than the subject that causes the reaction?

Do beautiful people really exist? Would they still be beautiful if no one were around to praise them?

Yes to a degree, everyone has a preference but basically if your head/face is at a certain shape and if its symmetitrical with certain features usually really sharp,

There's also beauty in personality idt ur talking about tht tho.

Do beautiful people really exist? Yes
Would they still be beautiful if no one were around to praise them?yes, bc they have a potential, this sounds like those tree falling in the forest question, most human beings are attractive to a degree

Honestly you can never define beauty physically to one person, as someone else can think of that person differently. But yes, I do agree that everyone has beauty within and outside of them! People can be very beautiful within if they choose to show their beauty, which a lot of people do wanna show! But the hard part of beauty is the outside, because the view of beauty is different for everyone else. But honestly I think everyone is beautiful, as human beings are a very beautiful and unique shape, form, how they move, ect. So beauty does exist, it's just an extremely hard topic to come upon.

Yeah I think so.

Some people are beautiful. Not in what they look like, or in what they say or do, just in what they are.

"Beauty" is an opinion, someone may think a woman looks ugly, while another person thinks she looks "beautiful" .

What i'm getting ready to say may sound stupid, but words are just words, we give them definitions, so like I said "beauty" is just an opinion or preference. You can't prove that beauty exists, because everyone has their own opinion of what is "beautiful" , and what that word means to them.

Yeah, I believe it exists. And to get all scientific and indepth, it has been proven that the eye finds symmetry beautiful. Not necessarily with proportions, but with the similarities between the left and right side of the face. Of course environmental factors come into play as well. What we find beautiful today, was nowhere near what was used to be considered beautiful. I remember reading that women in the Middle Ages would shave their eyebrows and hairline to give the illusion of a higher forehead, which represented royalty. And bigger women were considered more desirable because it usually signified wealth. I do think beauty exists. Everyone's version is different of course, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yada, yada, carrots and peas. I find personalities beautiful. That is what originally attracts me to someone. I don't want to sound cliché and cheesy, but I think people are beautiful based on the person behind the face. Not the face. /CheesyPost :serenade:

The perception of beauty could be viewed as an evolutionary side effect from assessing potential mates for fitness. Symmetry and order are generally satisfying to humans possibly as a result of that. Our brains have an enormous faculty for recognising patterns, and categorising them seems a natural adjunct.

Beauty is subjective term, but the reality is that the characteristics that allow for the perception are very real.

sorry for the cliche. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Simply put and very true imo.

Yes but everyone sees it differently like for instance I find Kristen Stewart downright beautiful but I could name a couple of people who don't it really is different for everyone as everyone has different taste in people.

In a way. Biologically beautiful people will have more children... and that means that the more beautiful the man/woman you are the easier it is to complete the biological purpose of life, to reproduce.
