Why or Why not: Because people have the right to celebrate whatever they damn well please

I'm an atheist. Celebrating any kind of event/holiday is a persons decision, not a religious groups.

Please don't be rude about this and don't be racist. Thank you.

How the hell would a question involving religion end up being racist? Oh that's right, this is the internet.

Hey hey hey! This is just supposed to be for the fun of it. I don't have anything against you for you opinion. And way to quote -please don't be rude- right above a rude comment. Please just don't argue we don't need that. I respect your decision and ask you respect me, this thread, and others.

-BTW, racism is also referitive to your way of life. ._.

Do you celebrate it: I don't celebrate Halloween, the commercialized trick or treat day. I do celebrate Samhain, or All Hallows' Eve because I am pagan.
Should you: do as you please
Why or Why not: n/a

Why or Why not: CANDY OF COURSE, and the right to celebrate any holiday.

why not? Unless the scam called religion binds you (not trying to offend nonatheists) to not celebrate it due to All Souls Day on NOVEMBER 2.

Why or Why not: I don't see why people think its bad to celebrate Halloween. The holiday started in Celtic countries as a time respecting summers end and the preparation for winter. So I don't understand why some Christians (Like myself) see it as a bad thing to celebrate

Noo, it's not. Racism is hate or mistreat to a specific group of people, based on their backgrounds...

Unfortunately you misunderstood me. This is because I was not clear. So sorry. I meant it is when you are judged on that. Not someone's way of life. I dislike when people only think of different types of people.
Thank you for catching my mistake.

I think we should celebrate it because fuck Christians. Honestly, all holidays are completely commercialized. Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, et al., are now just not-so-cleverly disguised market ploys. There's no meaning any more, just go to Walmart and buy your stupid decorations. Because this is America!

Halloween may originaly have been formed as a pagist holiday to worship the dead. I'm not sure I can be wrong, but the point is over the years it's just been turned into a day to dress up and really enjoy yourself. I think it should be celebrated no matter the original reason of celebrating. Also people should celebrate Haloween for a fun time no matter what religion. (Hope all that made sense).

I'm Catholic and I celebrate it. I don't look at Halloween as a religious holiday like Christmas or Easter, it's just a day to dress up as something different and have some fun with no religious meaning.

Halloween is like resemblance of the holiday of the devil in my opinion, if u are doing it for the candy and the fun go ahead, if u r doing it for resemblance of the devil forget about it :)

Do I celebrate it?: Sure why not
Should you?: Do whatever you want
Why or Why Not?: Because its not a bad holiday, even though (here at least) the weirdos come out and hurt poor animals :(

Christians actually do celebrate halloween. Most Christians do, in fact. Only the hardcore Christians don't celebrate it due to religious conflict. The Bible doesn't say "Thou shall not celebrate "All Hallows Eve". The roots of Halloween aren't bad, their probably even good due to the celebration of our passed loved ones. The hardcore Christians that don't agree with Halloween because it is a Pagan holiday and they find no point in doing that, they also strongly disagree with it because as i said above 'the weirdos come out and hurt poor animals". My friend has a black cat, and they know they have to bring their black cat inside or else it will... Get hurt or sacrificed. Some even believe its celebrating Satan because of all the sacrifices that happen. Usually the Satanic religion influences theyre decision to sacrifice animals, I believe (but not 100% sure) that they sacrifice them to Satan to earn respect from him or something like that. Kinda like the saying "Selling your soul to the devil", which is typically said when some ones really wealthy, powerful, or famous. In fact, some Christians believe that the majority of Rock Bands have "Sold their soul to the devil". But most of it is just a silly rumor. I also think that in the Wicca religion, the Wiccans and Witches, do a lot of potions and healings on "All Hallows Eve", but its not what hollywood portrays them, its healings for loved ones so that they have a good after life, and healings for living loved ones. Wicca has a huge misconception in hollywood, because they aren't those witches you see in movies, the Wicca religion is harmless, and if anything only want to do good. Wiccans actually wish good on people, and they believe there is energy in everything around us. Alright I'm done with my information overload lol :P Its all rather interesting. Of course some is just scary, but most is interesting  (Sources? That one show about Wicca, it had that one lady who was "Oregons/Salems official witch", when the senator/governor of Oregon proclaimed that lady (something like Cabbot or something) the official witch of salem/oregon he received a lot of heat from fellow Republicans. She is a HUGE philanthropist

Do you celebrate it: Yes. But I'm "too old" to do the fun things :L
Should you: I can pass for 16...but I should probably let the little kids have the good candy :L
Why or Why not: Candy bitches!

My Christian parents used to decorate and be more into it when I was little. But this year they only handed out candy and my 13 year old sister was the Virgin Mary. It was super awkward when a little toddler dressed as the Devil came up as she was walking out, he whacked her with his pitchfork.

Should you: YES!!!!! The christians even adapted the original festival into their own thing.
Why or Why not: Halloween means "all hallow's eve!" In its current incarnation, it is a Christian festival which, like valentine's day, has been secularized. It shares the day with a pagan festival, but the fact remains that there is no good reason (other than rising childhood obesity/ type 2 diabetes rates) not to. It is not evil, it is a legitimate holiday.
