I'm doing a music assigment on the harp and one of the questions is what kind of music is it used in? Is it used in all genres? Details please:D

Classical is the most obvious, other easy listening, ballads (not sure what genre that would be).

It can be used in any genre, you're better off Googling it. :)

classical (as a general term, not specifically from the classical period), folk, some easy listening and soft rock. Also, any genre that uses odd instruments such as folk metal, medieval metal etc (you know the type, right? The Nightwish-y stuff)

Um, harp music? I'd like to see some harp metal though.

I play the celtic harp, actually. Traditionally it is used in classical and folk. I'm pretty sure they were invented in the middle ages and were used by traveling minstrels and the like.

I use mine for pretty much every genre. Its a lot like the piano in the fact that each string has one note and one sharp it can play (although the ammount of notes depends on the harp.) Although it does sound best accompanied by a supporting instrument. When it is by itself any song you play on it becomes sort of folkish sounding.

I hope I helped!

They actually make electric harps. ;) They sound pretty damn intense, maybe not exactly metal, but definitely rock and roll.
