So I'm really, really shy about my body hair, yet I know its completely normal. Within the last year, I've really 'come out' with letting my body hair show. Like within the last year, I've worn shorts out in public. For me, its like an adrenaline boost lol, call me daredevil if you wish :P But with my parents, they've only seen my leg hair on accidents, and they only got brief looks. I felt so embarrassed.

How did your family/parents handle your body hair and what body hair have they seen? What body hair do you have?

I have a lot of hair on my arms and legs, so I know what you sorta mean. However, thank God, it is blonde. My parents didn't pay much attention to it. I am a lot like my moms dad, who had REALLY hairy arms, so my mom is just used to it. But I know what you mean by being embarressed about having a lot

I have body hair on my stomach and chest and legs and armpits. My family never commented on it. I got it young.

I don't think they noticed anything. I have an older brother who has been thru this and a younger brother who hasn't.

I am really hairy! Chest, stomach, back, butt, face, arms, legs, pubic area, hands, feet... They did notice when I first started getting it but it's normal, dude.

>.> Wow yeah getting body hair is nothing to be ashamed of, women get it too you know. You just don't see it a lot because they shave/wax. Unless you find body hair absolutely disgusting, you shouldn't be so shy about it. It means you're becoming a man.

At first, I hid from my parents and started becoming shy about it but as I grew older, I learned ti accept myself for who I was. My parents have no problem about it but they do jokes about it (Saying things like: "He has armpit hair, that must mean he has pubic hair") to try to ambarass me. I don't really care anymore but from time to time I wish I had less hair! :(

Hehe well I can see how that is difficult for some people. Obviously for me coming from a family who are often naked around each other I've never had to do a 'big reveal' other than deciding to start shaving my pubes was a little wierd the first time I did it, but it was a non issue in the end. I'm not otherwise hairy, but ironically I did go through a time around 14 of feeling self conscious because I didn't have much hair as though I was less 'manly as a result.

Since having hair is perfectly normal, it is only your mental programming that makes it feel odd, and the way to de-program is to get used to the opposite. This could mean going all out and hanging out on a nudist beach, or more realistically just as you are by taking baby steps like shorts, then when that feels like a non issue try shorter shorts, then speedos etc.

i'm a home nudist so my parents saw my hair start to grow just like i did. my dad casually mentioned about me growing up when i started getting pubes, and my mom giggled when she noticed i shaved them off once. hair is part of growing up.

I was incredibly embarrassed about my body hair because I have a LOT of it and got it very early. I got pit hair when I was 8 or 9 and by middle school I had arms and legs hairier than some adults. I got hair on my chest and stomach by 12 and on my back at 13. I'm 17 now and basically covered head to toe in thick hair. My parents split up when I was 11 and so I live with my mom and I was incredibly embarrassed. One day (recently) she told me she thought I was ashamed of being hairy and I basically told her I was, and we're fine now. She's seen me shirtless and the rug I have on my chest and stomach and everything's fine now, I kinda regret going to such great lengths to hide it in the first place.

It's not a problem. We are all mature about it and besides I am not the first person to go through puberty

idk, that's just a strange question to me, how did my family handle it. my dad is a hiary guy and i guess both my parents just expected their boys to get hairy too. so i got hairy at an early age, still growing the stuff LOL and both my mom and dad have seen me naked so know all about my hair.

I never understood why some guys feel so embarrassed about their body hair. Body hair is a natural thing... for both men and women, actually. Most women shave all of their body hair, but that's not the case for men. Men are expected to have body hair. It's nothing to be ashamed of. If you have body hair, I think you should embrace it. I can understand some guys being a little embarrassed about chest hair, but again, I think you should embrace it. Tons of guys would kill to have chest hair. I know I would. I have a little, but it's nothing really. Again, embrace it and be happy with it. No need to hide it or feel embarrassed. It's a natural thing. Eventually when you get older you will have no issues with it. :)

As for me... My parents never said anything to me. They have seen all of my body hair except for my pubic hair and my hairy thighs. Facial hair, the little bit of chest hair I have, armpit hair, arm hair, leg hair, etc. They've seen it all. Not once has anybody said anything to me about it.

When they saw, they teased me a bit. I was a bit embarrassed at first, but we just laughed about it. There's nothing to be ashamed of! Your parents or older siblings have gone through the exact same thing.

my family knew that i would have hair before it even came, my entire dad's side is full of large and hairy men, but luckily i am blonde so it doesn't show as much, compared to my brother and cousins who aren't blonde.

You shouldnt be too shy about it. Its a part of growing up.
I went through a little bit of teasing by my family but nothing major

meh i got teased at first, especially cuz i got hairy legs really young so i didnt wear shorts very much but then after a year or so it got old trying to hide it and i started to accept it... it was just usually my mom that noticed the hair and stuff, she would always comment, her side of the family is just like that though, like every time a kid hits puberty its some big deal.
