Ok, I am a big fan of the Sega Dreamcast! After doing research about the dreamcast, I found different articles about the Dreamcast 2 coming out. Now, I read different articles saying that its coming out soon, but is it really coming out, or is it just a rumor??? I mean, it would be really Awesome if there was a Dreamcast 2 coming out! Like, I would probably trade my Wii for one, haha :D Anyways, is it really true, or not? What are your thoughts?

It's a rumor, Sega doesn't have enough resources to support a new console. Even if they did, it would not be the best idea trying to compete against bigwigs such as Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, especially now that Valve might be joining the console wars.

Is there any links you can provide us with that have some proof?

Honestly Sega couldn't even get a Bayonetta sequel without the help of Nintendo(which is now a console exclusive) Sega will not make a console for a while that's for sure.

If it's just a rumor, then there wouldn't be any links to prove it.

I doubt Valve would really join the console wars. I could see them putting out specialty hardware, but nothing along the lines of actual sit down consoles. Valve's market is PC and Mac, has been for a while, and it'll most likely stay that way. Valve HAS been making some progress with consoles in the last year, especially integrating STEAMworks for PS3, but I don't think they would make such a drastic jump.

I think Gabe is enthusiastic about it, and if they actually made a Steambox I wouldn't think twice about buying another Xbox. That is if the games have all the benefits of a PC(like TF2 :yummy:)

I can't see this happening. I mean for a small/medium company to enter the console debates with Sony and Microsoft would be risky to say the least. I mean Xbox is still huge due to the fact Microsoft pays for it to be advertised 24/7 and practically fucks the heads of directors of all the gaming companies. However...we won't go into that.

Bottom line is, it would be quite possibly suicide to go up against a company like Sony or Microsoft. I mean for online gaming that is.

He didn't say it was a rumor, he asked us if it was a rumor.

I found different articles about the Dreamcast 2 coming out.

He mentioned that he found articles which is exactly what I was asking to see.
