So what are your feelings on netbooks? In case you have no idea what I'm talking about:
A small laptop computer that is smaller than a notebook, designed primarily for accessing Internet-based applications.
Anyways, I'm thinking of getting one but I want it to be fairly cheap ($100 or less). Which one should I get and why?

Personally, I'm not a fan of Netbooks. I think they are too small for my taste, not to mention the fact most of them don't have a DVD drive.
Unfortunately, I don't think you are going to find one for $100 or less, unless you go on Craigslist and get a used one.

Good plan, I was thinking about that but I don't want to meet any creepy people

I wouldn't be too worried. My dad does deals on Craigslist all the time. You just need a muscle to come with you.
Come to think of it, the only incident my father and I had was when we were selling a classic Atari to someone. We went to the wrong door on accident and an angry Nigerian answered, saying "WHO ARE YOU?!", "WHAT IS THAT?!", "NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!" and what not. But, we escaped before he could kill us with a machete. :P

Your dad had a classic Atari? Lucky...

I'd save up and buy a cheap tablet. IT, in my opinion, is not really worth it. Most netbooks are *waay* to underpowered to preform basic every day tasks.
This isn't apple bias, but the only real good netbook I can think of is the current generation MacBook Air, or an Intel Ultrabook.

Netbooks are stupid. They generally run on Intel Atom processors which are slow as fuck and don't have a DVD drive and you can get a full-sized laptop for not much more with similar specs.

I do like netbooks though, they are portable and I only really need one for web browsing and word processing like they are made for.

If you can wait a month I would look around for a Black Friday deal. Even if you don't go down to the store they have a ton of deals online around the same time.

Well, I have a netbook, and I like it ok. I mean, I like that its small, because its easy transportation, and you could use it easier on a desk or bistro style table. Sometimes I wish I had a bigger screen, though. One disadvantage is that most netbooks don't have a disk drive, which can cause some inconvenience when it comes to downloading some softwares or wanting to watch a DVD or something. Other than that, they are good for school and getting on the internet.

I don't like netbooks. They are honestly sloooooooooow. My mom has one and it's so slow it's unresponsive. I think the hard drive is dying in that thing...SSD time!
Get a tablet, or something decent.

Anyone considering a netbook should just go for a cheap Windows 8 tablet / Microsoft Surface. Some start as low as $350, are way more useful and faster than pretty much any netbook, and include stuff like Microsoft Office for free..

Netbooks are for people who want a tablet-like thing with a keyboard and windows. They're terrible. Once I was at best buy and clicking a few buttons made one of the netbooks freeze and crash.
