Ok, there's this thing going around (at least in my school) where you put salt and ice on your arm. The chemical reaction causes a slight burn. I did it about 3 days ago (I know I'm stupid, get over it). My question is, should the burn be getting redder and more sensitive as time goes on, or is that not normal. A day after I did it I could pull the surrounding skin back and it would be white. The next day it was brown and now there is no difference in color at all, it's just dark red. Should I be concerned?

Considering you just did it three days ago, I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. I'm not going to chew you out about it being a dumb thing to do--I think the burn on your arm is proof enough of that lol. I would suggest putting some antibiotic cream, such as Neosporin, on it if you can (generic works just fine too). You can put burn ointment on it instead, I typically just use an antibiotic to help keep it from getting infected. The burn is still relatively new, so it's expected that it is still quite red and sensitive. Just doctor it the best you can and give it time to heal.

Uh oh...some of my friends from school have permanent burns that have been there for months already. They tried this challenge and that's the outcome. I really don't think there is anything you can do at this point. Hopefully it goes away.

I gave it ago about 4 months ago now and Iv still got the scars on my arm. Nothing to worry about though :)

Depending on length of contact, it will scar. Sounds like the beginning of a scab. It may look different to other injuries you may have incurred due to the sodium. The sodium will actually keep it clean, so you should be less worried about infection. I hope you learned a lesson here.

My friend did that, his mom is a nurse and told us it gave him a mild form of frostbite. Not a burn. If it still hurts put neosporin for pain on it, and keep it covered. It will probably leave a nasty Scarborough but it shouldn't kill you.
