'Windows 8 shatters perceptions of what a PC now really is,' said CEO Steve Ballmer, who said the new software was 'magical'

I'm a little skeptical, but if it was a hit I'd consider buying it. It'll be interesting to see whether it does put Microsoft ahead of Apple again.

When I switched to a mac this summer, I don't think I'll ever go back. I'll probably end up getting it for my desktop though, idk

I'd wait it out a few months just so they can work out the inevitable bugs that are gonna be in the new software if I was to get it. But there's nothing wrong with Windows 7 so I'm probably not going to switch it up unless Windows 8 is just revolutionary.

I bought Windows 8 and I hate it. Once you remove the Start button it's not Windows anymore. I do understand they're trying for innovation but really? Lots of people say "give it time and relearn then you'll love it". Problem is they didn't do a whole lot. They took windows 7 and added apps and some other things and that was it. Hence why the upgrade was only $40 on their site.
