Hi.

I classify myself as a Libertarian Marxist, ever since I was 11 three years ago. When I first heard of people like Ron Paul, Gary Johnson and Jesse Ventura, I loved them. Now, I am not so sure to support these people (and more) or not. And, I am going to tell you why.

1st: Too Naive

Personally, I think that Libertarians seem to think they can audit the fed, legalize marijuana, shorten government etc all at once without going though Congress. I do not think that they understand that there will be opposition to fight and they think it is all going to be peaches and rainbows if they do get a president they support into office, when its not really going to happen. For example, Obama WANTED to close G-Bay, but Congress did not allow it because they just did not see why to close it. If Paul was going to run for any party, might as well be Libertarian, as he will had far more support. Also, people are still saying "PAUL 2012" When he is not even running anymore.

2nd: They use "Bible School" Answers.

A Bible School answer is that there is that one word that is right all the time. Like in Bible School, you can always say "JESUS!" and you would be right. There Bible School answer is "SMALL GOVERNMENT!" and they believe that smaller government will solve EVERYTHING. However, we tried that with the Articles of Confederations, and look what happened. Revolts, Bankruptcy and states warring against each other. Now, we can actually govern ourselves because we switched to the Declaration of Independence.

3rd: Many people was never Libertarian, Many people are still not Libertarian, and many people will not be Libertarian in the future. Libertarians do not seem to understand this.

There are (American) Liberals and Conservatives. There are also pockets of more radical ideologies in the U.S. However, Libs seem to have a slice of the pie from every ideology in some form. However, Libs are fighting against a very divided force while being split themselves. Look at the Reform Party, it's now divided because of left and right-wing factions are tearing it apart. If the Libs are going to succeed, its going to have to try to avoid this. Sure, both of them do have a united goal now, but side goals of both might switch to main goals if the Democratic/Republican tensions increase more and more.

4th: A lot of "Pathos," hardly any "Logos"

Libertarians seem to invoke a lot of disgust in the government by saying that "THE FED IS PRINTING OUR MONEY!" and "KILLILLUMINATI" without hardly giving any hardcore evidence of there info. Personally, I think a lot of Libs are some-what blind in the fact of being a "rebel" and not actually believing in there opinions. Now, of course, there are many who do have actual opinions, but a good percentage of the Libs do not.

I'm not hating on the Libs, but it's just that they have a very small chance to succeed in this nation unless of hard work or a miracle.

What do you think of the "mainstream" Libs? Personally, Noble, but a broken system that has hardly any true, spirited organization. Yours?

Mainstream libertarians, like the kind you will often find on sites like /r/Libertarian, are definitely not helping the cause. When you think about it, many people are, in fact, libertarians. I see a large increase in how people have more common ground over fiscal and social issues that the libertarian ideology stands for.

Simply put, a pure libertarian is for the full social advancement of the country while, at the same time, keeping us financially stable and having a free market economy that does not follow the perview of Capitalism. I consider myself to be one of these "pure" libertarians because this is basic common sense logic. Yes, all the catch phrases of "balance the budget", "cut the deficit", "get America working", and whatever else WILL permeate the base, but they mean nothing if you don't put it all into action. The sole purpose of a libertarian is to make sure the American public knows what its government is doing, how it funds itself, why it does things, and to make sure that government does not intrude upon the lives of the citizens. Republicans and Democrats have ruled this country for well over 150 years,, and we've fallen into "Well, which is the lesser of two evils?" because of it. Libertarians are not just "3rd party", they will be the future of this country and we need to raise more awareness to the cause.

While yes, the Libertarian party has its flaws, it is the only party that morally has is head in the right place, that place being fighting corruption.
