My Friend's mom found out that she was cutting

Her mom found out that she was cutting and just gave up on her. It wasn't even to the extreme, they were small cuts and her mom just gave up. She didn't even try to resolve it she just checked her into a mental hospital. Doesn't that just make it worse?

Well, you have to think: is she giving up on her or is she trying to do what she thinks is best for her daughter? She didn't know what else to do, so she tried checking her into a mental hospital--a place where she is monitored so she can't hurt herself anymore. Whether it actually is for the best or not is up for debate, but I honestly think her mother thinks she's doing what is for the best for her daughter. Imagine how frightened you would be if you were her mother and you thought everything was fine, and you all of a sudden find out your daughter cuts herself. Wouldn't you be terrified, especially for your daughter's safety? She's doing what she knows how to do to help, whether that's right or not only time will tell.

I wish my mum was like that. She don't care that i cut. She just looks at me in that dissappointed face and ignores it

This is probs the best thing for her, to sort it out before it gets worse.

She's doing what she believes is right. Mine acted the same way, but I believe that hers actually care about her. Mental hospitals are fucking expensive. Parents just don't understand self harm. I definitely agree that what the parents did makes it worse. All it does is force you to find new ways of destroying yourself; I know of several that I use when I'm in the nuthouse.
