Worst singers?

I've noticed a few threads recently asking who people think are the best vocalists, but who do you think are the worst?

Out of the big modern singers, one of the worst for me is Lana Del Rey. I just can't understand the attraction to her - her voice is amazingly average and often depressing or just plain boring.

Another one that I don't like is Madonna. Nothing about her music appeals to me (except maybe Justin Timberlake :wub:).

I'm not a huge fan of either, but I'm going to play Devil's Advocate a little and say that both have quite good voices. Ever heard Carly Rae live? Or Justin? Their music may be cheap and made for teenage girls, but the vocal talent is there in my opinion.

I didn't say there aren't bands or vocals better than them, I just said they are not the worst by far. Also, yeah I admit the vocals were a little off in that one (especially the first song - collapse), have you actually looked at others though or just gone with the first one you've seen?

However after listening to enough live footage it has become very natural sounding to me and I prefer it to the album recordings sometimes. He's one of my favorite vocalists. Also, keep into account that he's singing for about an hour and a half under an immense amount of pressure every day. His voice is bound to be strained. And Collapse has never been a strong song for him (Rise Against junkie here). Oh and when you actually see them live, I have twice, you don't worry about how bad his voice sounds on some songs.

I still enjoy more screaming type of songs, I think that Rise Against songs are too light side for me but that's me. I really like Punk Rock and Hardcore Punk but Rise Against isn't one of those bands I really like. I'm not saying they're bad the music is good and I sometimes listen to it but not regularly I think they're good but not just my type of music.

Technically Lily Allen should have the worst vocal ability considering as she only has an octave and a half range - although I wouldn't say she is a bad singer.

Nicki Minaj, in my opinion, is the worst. She constantly sings about repressing emotions and acting all "weird" and stuff, which is basically motivation of doing stupid things. She doesn't even sound really good in auto - tune.

Rebecca Black doesn't sound good either, but she isn't exactly that bad enough to attract so much hate. Nicki Minaj is someone I have grown to loath - not her, but her music. I saw her high school photos before - she was beautiful. I don't know what made her change into such a terrible state.

Oo, the reason these sh** bands are so popular is because of the record companies. They dont make themselves popular, record companies sell them. My cousin is a drummer for a great local band, they have 4 albums, they are known from Massachusetts to New York to Connecticut way up to New Hampshire because people know them locally. Not because of record labels, if they had one... They could be huge!
