So, as I woke up this morning I felt the whole room spinning, like it even appeared so. I almost fell down a couple of times and I have been feeling very light headed for awhile. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

This could be a number of things including an inner-ear infection or a flu onset. I actually had this a few days before I got flu. If it continues tomorrow, see a doctor just to be on the safe side.

Drink a lof of water and make sure your blood sugar levels are up (eat stuff, preferably carbs.) It could be an inner-ear infection, as Teejay said, so check if you have a fever. If you do, you should go to a doctor and get some antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon!

Like everyone else said if you are a diabetic and your sugar wasps that could do have something to do with it. But if you get up really fast that can do it to because I know when over up fast I'm really dizzy.

It's called Vertigo....I had that once. I was laying on my bed...grasping onto the edges of the mattress.....and the feeling was like the bed was tied onto a rope and was being swung around the room....

I don't know what caused it...and it went away quickly. I might have had a flu at the time; I don't remember.

I get the same thing sometimes, I usually get it if I've taken a pre workout supplement the day before. I've been told its something to do with blood pressure. I get it when I stand up to quickly as well. As others have said though it could be an inner ear infection.

Actually, it's Absolutly normal. When you sleep, ur head is at the Same level as ur feet and is like that for hours making the blood go at a steady rate for hour on hour. When you wake up and sit up, the blood flow is now slowed to your head as your heart was not prepared for you to sit up after 8 hours of sitting down. So there a temporary restricted amount of blood going to ur brain which makes you dizzy. It could be ear infection or anything else listed, but it might be normal (as is for me). Before you sit up in the morning, try and lie there a couple seconds before you sit up, then do the same before you get out of bed. Hope this helps

Could be many things, but sounds like a case of vertigo. I get it from having very low blood pressure. Mention it to your family physician at your next visit if you are still suffering from it.

Maybe you're dehydrated? Try drinking a ton of water today and if it doesn't get better by tomorrow visit a doctor.

Do you stand up quickly when you get out of bed?
Sometimes, that happens to me because when you lie down, the blood is evenly distributed around your body; when you stand up you either get a sudden rush to your head, or a lack of blood to your head.. This causes dizziness and in some cases, fainting.
It's nothing serious, it's happened to me a few times.

Exactly. That happens to me once in a while and I know how it feels. Maybe this could be your issue?

I know this has been covered. However I do have a little advice.

Avoid eating salty foods like chirps before going to bed and drink a glass of water before going to bed, during the night you sweat and loose a lot of fluid leaving you dehydrated. This can give a feeling of light headedness when you get up in the morning. Especially if you get up quickly.
