Actually, that's false, it's 16 and over. I don't think that should be the law/psychological approach to this though. Mainly because It's like saying if a 12 year old was to be sexually obsessed with a 5 year old, and then acted on it, they aren't a pedophile when clearly they are. But, it all depends on a persons personal opinion.

I'm kinda the same. No it doesn't make you a pedophile, it's common for guys to be turned on by younger girls. 12 year old girls get me horny, but since i'll be 15 soon, I wouldn't do anything with a girl younger than 12. When your younger, age gaps seem bigger than they are. Assuming you live in Canada or the US, you are in grade 9 and the girls are in grade 7, which is a bit weird but not too much. When you get into high school or even university, 2 years is not a big deal at all. My parents are 4 years apart and my grandparents are 8. Don't worry about it.

No, again. The original definition is VERY specific about the pre-pubescent part. The pre-pubescent part is very important as its natural (biologically anyway) to be sexually attracted to someone who is old enough to sexually reproduce (ie has gone through puberty).

It makes more sense if you think about the word in a historical sense as even just a couple of centuries ago it wasnt abnormal for 13 and 14 year old girls to start getting married and have kids. Even today this is legal in some places in the world.

Since I have to deal with this a lot (i spend a lot of time with older men) pedophile is for an attraction or whatever to people before puberty, what he is describing is hebephile into people just entering puberty / early puberty.
