Ok, so we all have car troubles, right? Mostly, it isnt too fun with car troubles, but there are times when something bad actually becomes something funny. So what is your favorite car trouble story?!

Mine would have to be the time my moms devil car (98 Buick Regal GS) had an exhaust leak. The leak got worse over time, and the car sounded LOUD! I mean, it was a car that sounded like a souped up truck with a good muffler. Oh, and my mom also needed power steering fluid, so the car already wines and then was even louder with it being low on power steering fluid. So, she takes me to school one day, and I get out, and walk all the way into the main area inside the school. I can hear my mom take off with the loud exhaust leak, plus the loud wining. I just started laughing that I could hear the freaking car all the way inside the center of the school, haha

Today I was parked in a dirt turnout about to go running. My friends jumped out of their cars and into the bed of my truck and yelled "Go Go Go!!". I decided to give them a little show, so I turned the truck on and proceded to burnout. I let off the brake and drove over what I thought was solid ground on the side of the road. It was a mud filled ditch. The whole front right side of my truck dipped into the mud before I realized what happened. I was able to back out but I have some serious mud on an otherwise very clean truck haha.

Also we have a volvo that has north of 300,000 miles (odometer is broken) and literallly everything but the engine doesn't work. Half the exhaust fell off last year when pulling up our driveway so its pretty loud now haha.

I've only been driving for about 7 months and so far nothing too bad has happened. The worst would be just recently, I was having some battery problems. I was stopped at a light and my car just stopped. I started freaking out, i was petrified i was gonna be stuck in the middle of this intersection. I tried starting the car, and it came back on right away. Idk what the problem was D:. Thank god:D haha

A few months back, I was driving my 95 Camry home from my sister's house. I notice my tank is on empty, so I pull into the gas station next to the on-ramp. Once I fill her up and pay, I get in the car and start to leave. Since I have the radio off, I hear this loud screeching, which freaks me out, so I pull off to the side.

When I get out to check everything, I notice that a piece of metal is jammed in my rear drivers side wheel. So, I panic and call my sister, because her boyfriend is good at cars. After about 20 minutes of waiting, he arrives with his father. We pull out the jack from my trunk, prop up the car, and remove the wheel. My sister's examines the piece of metal that was jamming things up, and casually throws it aside. Turns out, it was the dust shield, and my car can drive without it. So, we put the tire back on, they drive home, and so do I.

That would be my luck though for my car to break down when I need it most.

That's a pretty funny story :P

Mine is that my grandpa in his 20 year old Ford crashed into the bumper of a 2007 Honda Odyssey and the Ford was fine and the Odyssey's bumper was dented as hell :D

However after telling this story many times people have told me it's because newer cars are made to crumple on impact for safety reasons so that kinda ruins my story but oh well.

More like so if the car is totalled the owner will have to buy a new one, preferably from the same manufacturer.

Once my dad's truck stalled at a red light. He restarted it. And that was that.

When I got my Jeep stuck in a field with the doors off, freezing cold, at 3 in the morning. Quite the experience.

A friend and I were racing around in my corn field in his '93 Geo Prizm and went through several dips, blew out his rear shocks. Then the brakes failed on us, and finally we blew out the clutch. Se we ended up being stuck about 1.5 miles in the middle of a corn field at night. Needless to say it was hell pushing his car back to my house, since we didn't want to leave it out all night and we needed some sort of light.

I actually have a really really good one. About three weeks ago, my boy and I were on our way to a concert, and we see an owl, yes an owl, laying in the road. I am a huge animal lover, so I just pull over and tell Seth to make sure I don't get ran over and I ran out onto the highway to see if it was dead. It was not. Someone had clipped on of it's wings, so it couldn't even stand up, none the less fly, and I had NO IDEA, what to do. Owls are endangered, so it's illegal to have one. So, I wrapped it up in a sheet that I just happened to have laying in my car and we were going to drive it to a veterinary clinic down the road. Well, when we got back in my car, we realized two things. The owl was very scared of my vehicle and was screeching and biting and trying to escape, and, I had a flat tire. So, you can imagine, we are literally freaking out. Obviously though, we are the luckiest people in the world, because we had only been out for five minutes when a policeman pulled over to make sure we weren't like, drunk or high or anything. His face when he got out and saw me singing a lullaby to an injured owl, thought. Holy crap. So, it worked out fine.

I have a pretty good one:
First, I only have my learners permit (I'm getting my full license in April 2012), yet I do already own my own car, or truck rather, that I bought when I was 13. I own a 2000 Ford Ranger with 135,000 miles on it. So over the summer, shortly after getting my permit, I was driving it down our street which is a curved downhill slope. As I went down the hill, I started to apply my brakes to slow for the curve in the road, only to find out that in-between the stop sign at the top of the road and then I had lost all of my brake pressure, and I was left with nothing to stop me. I of course panicked at first, and my mom just started screaming like somebody had a gun pointed at her, which sure didn't help. Then I remembered how I had been taught to slowly apply the emergency brake in the event of a brake failure. I did this successfully and coasted into our cul-de-sac where I parked the truck until it could be looked at by my dad and me. Upon crawling under the truck and into a puddle of brake fluid, I found that both of my rear brake lines had rusted out and burst at the same time. We had to get the truck towed and it cost me $900.00 in repairs! :(
At least I managed to not drive myself up a tree though. :D

Nothing bad has really happened to me yet, but one thing that was funny that happened to my dad was he was speeding down the highway, and he gets pulled over by a cop. So after talking to the cop for a minute he manages to get away without a ticket however... There was some debris were we pulled off, so we didn't get a ticket, but we got a flat tire which was probably more expensive than the ticket.

This doesn't really count so much, but a friend of mine bought a car for a couple hundred dollars, with the intent being to fix it up and get it running. So we do manage to get it running after getting a battery, getting a new alternator, and getting a new starter motor. However, when it finally started (which required a lot of diethyl ether) and was able to hold an idle, I drove it down his driveway and we saw rust shoot out the exhaust. The clutch in it had a non existent friction point, the engine had trouble holding an idle, and the brakes were pitiful. Later that evening the car just completely died in his driveway.

Since then we have pretty much been doing everything you can to fix up a car... new shock, control arms, tires, bushings brakes (rotors and pads), new piston rings, clean the engine out (pistons, crankshaft, and all), new cables to the spark plugs, new distributor, took the head to be cleaned professionally, and we have changed (or will) just about every gasket in the car. Presently the car's suspension system is altogether, we just have to rebuild the engine and put it in the car and hopefully it will work. We also sort of need to buy a new transmission, because when we started taking that apart, we saw there were metal shavings falling out, and there was a hole in the bell housing... Its coming a long, sort of...

Dang! By the time you replace everything, you will practically have a new car, lol I have kind of always wanted to restore or fix up an old car even though I dont know much about under the hood work, besides the basics. The only thing is, I dont have any money do it with.

I'm lucky that my friend is bankrolling the whole thing, but it helps that he's very well off. Somehow between the three of us we seem to know what were doing (albeit they know a lot more than I do). If you ever get the chance its a really cool thing to do.

We were parked in downtown once while I was trying to figure out how the parking meter worked, when a motorcyclist ran a blind corner and rear-ended my car. It didn't do any damage, he didn't really hurt himself, but the sound of the loud thud made me jump and almost scream. I dropped my wallet and coins were flowing out everywhere.

Not really a car trouble story but hey, it involved a car and some trouble :P

Radiator hose broke. Waited an hour and a Guy came and repaired it so I could make it home. Drove 4km. Broke again. Antifreeze spraying everywhere. Waited 2 hours for a guy to show up to tell me he couldn't fix it. Then waited 8 hours for the tow truck.

Hmm, I'd say one that happened this past summer. I went to this thing called Truck Night with some friends in the guy's Soft Top Chevy Tracker, and we went mudding. I'd say about half way home, right after we got off the freeway his car just stopped in the middle of what is normally a busy road on a Friday night. It was about 11pm I think, and we were in a really bad neighborhood. Turns out all the mud in his... Uh... *Insert important car part here* Alternator? Basically ruined it. We ended up just sitting in a church parking lot for an hour, covered head to toe in mud waiting for someone to come by, because me and Dak were the only ones with phones and his didn't have minutes and mine was dead. I had my AAA card, but no phone to call with lol. For an hour, the only person that passed us was a guy on a bike who just laughed at us. Then finally, we saw a car that was turning on a nearby street, so Gage went running towards it screaming. It ended up being an off duty cop so he called someone to come pick us up. It ended up being my first and so far only ride in a cop car.

OR... When my mom, my brother and I were driving to Mississippi to see my family. Long story short, her ignition wasn't working right and we couldn't get the car to start. We were about 95 miles or something from my Granny's house (right inside her 100 mile free tow limit). The tow guy took us back to his shop to get a truck with more room, and right as he was about to hook the car up, my mom got it to start, so we were able to drive the 90+ miles and make it to the dealership my cousin worked at to have her ignition replaced.
