View Full Version : How to deal with a crazy boss?

Hey guys, as the title suggests I'm looking for some advice on how to deal with my crazy, evil bitch of a boss. Today I went into work after a day off and the manager was in a terrible mood with me. I hadn't done anything and she was blaming me for stuff that had happened the day I was off!

I don't mind if she is moaning about stuff to do with work every boss does but when she goes in to her bitch moods she gets pretty aggressive and starts throwing stuff at me. She always throws in personal insults that have nothing to do with work. Usually I just put up with it cause I can hardly be aggressive and argue back she's a woman and my boss (don't mean to sound sexist there but I just don't agree with a guy intimidating a woman).

Today though I was pretty close to just walking out of my job, obviously I don't want to leave but it gets to a stage that I can't stand and take constant insults and shouting anymore. I'm not really a sensitive guy but I don't think anyone could stand it. Two people have already left because of her and I don't want to be the third. Is there anything I can do to stop this or do I just have to put up with it since she's my boss?

This is also just a bit of a rant to get this off my chest after such a bad day at work.

Is there anything you can do to stop it? You can either go to one of the other managers and bring it up and see if they can do something about it, talk to her directly about it, or talk to HER boss about it. All of those are frightening things, but she is, in all honesty, a menace to everyone in the workplace. She doesn't even deserve the right to be a manager if she is antagonizing people so much that they are LEAVING because of her. It's really something you need to bring up with the other managers and with her boss, because it's unacceptable for any boss to do that. In doing what she's doing, she is hurting the very company that she works for! If, after that, you still can't get anything resolved, then you'll have to either put up with it for the time being, or find another job. I hope things work out for you bud, I know what it's like to have a horrible boss like that...

Thanks man, she's the only manager at the place I work but talking to her boss might be a good idea. It's really getting to me now so I'll get the bitch somehow!
I don't know how her boss will take it though because the others that left complained about her and he basically took her side both times. Thanks for your reply:)

Theres no reason for your boss to be insulting you on a personal level whatsoever. She also has no right to throw things at you. Like Clint said, talk to her boss. Make it crystal clear that you've been personally insulted. If you need the job, I would say stick it through and if after you talk to her boss, nothing changes, look elsewhere. There are A LOT of places that have very laid back, fun environments.

Thanks for your replies I spoke to her boss today, he was really nice about it, he has told me everything I tell him is confidential and that I need to write to him telling him what she has done before he takes it further. Apparently what she has done is assault and 'gross misconduct' which means if everything I say checks out she's pretty much sacked! The guy I spoke to was really supportive and told me not to leave but if things were getting to much for me I can phone him either just to get things of my chest or he will organise time off for me. Thanks very much for all your replies I wouldn't of known what to do without you guys!

Have you ever seen Horrible Bosses?

Seriously though, possibly search for other jobs and if you do get one leverage it with your boss. Tell her you don't want to leave but if she continues to act crazy you will be forced to take whatever job you got and leave her behind. Hopefully this wakes her up and alerts her that you are unhappy

I had the same situation with a crazy mean old lady for a boss. Honestly i hated going to work every day because i knew she would be mean. so i started looking for a new job. Eventually i got a bunch of offers. so i quit and got a new job. I AM SO MUCH HAPPIER working for people who respect me. My advice: if you dont have to deal with unpleasant people dont.

Okay so i wrote everthing above here before i read your post about gross misconuct stuff Im not deleting it just incase you wana read it.

If there is a person higher up taking care of you and it fixes everthing thats awesome. If she doesnt get fired things will be awkward if she finds out you told. My adcive is try to make your work situation so you like it weather its getting her fired or getting a new job.
