This is my first post. I'm 14. I'm a girl that identifies as a guy, but I don't want to be lesbian, and I can't get a sex change because of family and because I want to join the military. My mum completely freaks out when I do anything that makes me seem like a guy although she let me cut my hair short. She also lets me wear basketball shorts to drumline practise because I fed her some bullshit about getting hit in the thigh by my snare. I don't know how to tell her, and I'm scared she'll make me do more girly things than she does now if I do.

You need to be open with your mum and tell her that you are who you are. You can't have a good relationship with your parents unless you are both honest with each other. I am sure once you explain to her and discuss it with her that she will be a little more accepting.
I can't say I know how you feel and I can't begin to imagine how you feel. However you do really need to talk to her because this is something that can be quite bad to keep suppressed. Mums can be stubborn when they notice a girl acting like a boy as they don't or can't think of an explanation for it. However I think we you explain it might give her some insight.
I hope things work out with you and your mum :)
