so my mom is (49) in december. she has had her tubes tied for over a year now i guess.. anyways she doesnt think shes menopausing yet but were a little concerned because she is sexually active and uses no protection and she hasnt had a period in about 3 months now. anyways could she still be pregnant even with her tubes tied. i have reas that there is still a slight chance. moms worried as heck.... sort of.. and so i am. shes almost 50 and possibly pregnant. i know the most obvious thing to do would be get a pregnancy test to confirm but its not that were worried about. its what will come after.. first off her relationship is not very stable. her boyfriend has his own business as a masoner full time and hes 65 or so years old. i cant stress enough how weird it would be if he became a dad at that age however it has happened before. he has no kids of his own... soo

any recommendations on what my mom should do.... first key indicator that she may be pregnant is the no show of the period as shes currently not experiencing any menopause symptoms

thanks for your comments!

 VT General Hospital. This isn't really puberty related.

For heavens sake just get a HPT, or have your mum go to the GP.....This will stop all your concerns and hopefully the unnecessary worrying.

I would safely say that with her tubes being tied, the chances of her being pregnant are probably next to zero.

This is more than likely the onset of your mum going through the change......The Menopause.

No birth control is 100%. Tube tied babies happen every now and again.

But your mom needs to get a pregnancy test. She's hitting menopause age, but her body probably gave a one last ditch effort to breed. Test for confirmation, she's 49 she's old enough to figure her way out.

I'm sure actually there's some group she could look into the the older moms, pretty sure anyways since women around those ages are few and in between with pregnancies. Have her bounce around on the internet looking some up if the test is positive.

It's possible. Or maybe she's starting menopause. Since it's been 3 months, really the only way to tell is to get a home pregnancy test or take a visit to an OB/GYN.

She's probably menopausing...
