So my whole life, I've always gone to a small private school (by small, I mean like 6 kids in a class small) and I'm probably switching to a public school... Is it harder or easier than public school, and what should I expect?

because i haven't gone to your school or schools in your state, can't say if harder or easier. but one thing is for sure. huge classes. and by huge i mean around 30 or more kids per class.

It's actually an alternative school which has only 9 per teacher

Public schools (or comprehensive schools as we call them in britain) are usually easier than private schools, and they'll follow an educational program deduced by your state educational department which you'll be able to look up if you want, I expect. :) also you'll probably go on less school trips as they'll have a budget given to them by your state heads whereas private schools don't have to follow any strict rules made by your state.
