Does anyone have a hobby with security?? I love anything to do with surveillance and security systems?? I primarily deal with Honeywell or Pelco. Let me know!!

I have this ancient NAPCO security system that I got somewhere, which unfortunately doesn't work. It's from the early 80s, and you need an (E)PROM programming device to put the data in -- in hexadecimal.
It's just sitting in my closet, doing nothing and gathering dust. A shame, though, it is a pretty interesting thing.
I've tried a sort of CCTV, but v4l2 didn't want to cooperate, so I gave up. I know my dad hung up this network camera outside our house, and it just snaps a picture or two when it sees motion.

Good old 80s tech. Nostalgic.
My dad's house was built with a camera at the front door and over the driveway. We had an extra camera we bought for our old house and bought an RCA to BNC adapter so we could add it to the system (it supports 4 cameras) but I can't find the receiver for it.
We have an alarm system that we never arm anymore after it went off during a storm. I keep telling everyone it's fine as long as it's not during a storm, but they don't listen.
I think security stuff is pretty cool, but I can't exactly afford to buy a bunch of cameras and a DVR just because I'm interested. I'm not sure why you want us to contact you, unless you plan to send me some free stuff.

I think security stuff is cool, I don't have any hardware, but I can see myself tinkering with it in the future.
