View Full Version : Weight loss takes too long... (Rant)

I've decided to try to lose weight "the healthy way." Except the healthy way takes forever. If I lost two pounds a week, I'd ONLY LOSE 8 POUNDS IN A WHOLE MONTH. A whole month of suffering and dieting and hating myself, and 8 lost pounds would be ALL I would have to show for it!?
I'm FAT. Don't say I'm not. I'm freaking 210 pounds. I'm an elephant! To get to an "ideal" weight healthily, it'd take me a year, probably longer. And because I'm just a fatass pig, I'd probably gain it all back anyway.
Would you believe I used to starve myself? I'm 210 lbs and I used to starve myself, years ago. Of course, I gained a lot of weight since then, but I was actually semi-skinny. What is wrong with me that I can't actually BE SKINNY?
I'm trying to be positive. I'm trying SO HARD to be positive. "If you stick to it, you'll be 90 pounds lighter in a year!" But can I really handle a whole year of counting calories to 1240 a day? It's so hard. Not eating seemed easier...
I'm sorry for ranting and rambling. I'm just really upset right now and wanted to get it out. I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for this, too. You know, I'm just sorry for existing.

I know exactly how you feel. I am currently trying the healthy way and getting really discouraged. Exercising all the time and counting calories everyday is exhausting. Starving and purging seems alot easier but its really not love. Like you even said- you will gain the weight back and be on the same cycle. Doing it the healthy way sucks for now, but when you get to the weight you want to be you can stay there. I wish you the best of luck xx

Don't worry, it's worth it in the end! I used to be 60kg and now I'm 48kg- it took me 18 months to lose that weight. The more weight you lose/skinnier you are = the harder to get the extra weight off.
Maybe you could do more exercise or stop eating specific carbs for about 3 weeks or so to see if it helps?
It definitely is worth the wait though! Good luck! :)

Starving yourself is easier obviously, but it causes a lot of damage. Just think of why you tried to stop in the first place? I hate diets but it'll work and you'll feel better for it after, hopefully x Plus, even if you hate counting calories, the exercise is fun after a while :)

Do it the healthy way before an eating disorder takes over your mind.
Trust me, I know how quickly it can happen, without you even realising.
You can do it, just think how happy you'll feel once you're at your goal weight!
Good luck, behind you all the way.

I'm in the same pickle as you, but I promise it will get better. I'm still hating everything about dieting and all that too, but it's getting better than it was when I first started. Just hang in there~

Your not fat, and your not overweight. You look about 5ft 4? 5ft 5/6 maybe? Being 100 pounds at that height is unhealthy, 125 is a more realistic goal, do plenty of cardio, and if you want to bulk up and get a pack, eat foods that are enriched with protein and do some weight training, even simple exercises like push ups, sit ups and pull ups really help to help you gain lean muscle. If you don't eat, you'll feel lethargic all the time, your body will enter starvation mode and when you do start eating again, your body will hold onto everything you eat.
