I have been suffering with depression for a while now and I am now to the point (with the help of my friends) that i am able to pin point different mindsets that i get into when my depression hits
1. Extremly tired (to the point that i can't function even after a full nights sleep)
2. Extremly sad (almost crying or actually crying all day for absolutly no reason)
3. "i don't give a sh*t"- no matter how hard i try to do something my brain dosn't care and wont let me work on anything
4. numb- nothing seems real and i can't understand or process anything being said or that i read

when all 4 hit at the same time i tend to blackout for multiple hours. :/ but i'm hopeing now that since i can tell between the different mindsets that i will be able to find something (ex: drawing, playing guitar, writeing) that will help me feel better for each mindset.

but now i have a question, is anyone else able to pin point specific mindsets? and if so what are they?

Because i have bipolar disorder, i can generally pinpoint my moods and mindsets because they are so drastic, but during depressive episodes, i usually have all four mindsets you mentioned at the same time, not one at one time and one at another

When I was depressed I'd name my different moods.. Like how I was feeling was one person, and another. It was kind of like multiple personalities, but multiple moods.
It helped me a little to put the pieces together to sort myself out.
