View Full Version : Do you ever drop hints about your sexuality?

This one goes out to anyone who isn't heterosexual.

Do you ever, either on purpose or accidentally, drop hints to people who do not know your sexuality? Did they ever pick up on it? Ignore it, deny it?

I've been dropping accident hints to my Mum since I knew I was interested in girls, but I think she has shrugged them all off and never thought twice.

Any good stories to tell? :)

Not that I can think of, no. I've had the reality of my sexuality dominate my thoughts in certain situations, but I don't think I've dropped any hints (especially after hearing my parents talk trash about asexuals. They're perfectly okay with every sexuality except ace.)

In that I wear a gay themed earring and other accessories I suppose 'yes' but I'm not in the closet. Some people are really wrapped up in themselves and need an anvil not a hint, so it has varying success.

I don't know about good stories, but my pet peeve is the number of shallow 'show off' type girls who think they're going to flirt their way into your pants: if they are that 'into' me how come they don't even know I'm gay? Usually my actual girl friends fend that type off thankfully.

OMG YES! im in the closet and I don't act flamboyent so nobody really expects im gay (except maybe a few of my gay friends). I try to throw hints out there that i'm gay so when i come out i hope to come out maybe end of senior year maybe college maybe earlier. But when i do come out i hope it not to be such a big shock and people ignore me. (Im a junior now). I can't think of examples right now of what i throw out there but i deffinitly try to. Thanks for posting this question lol.

I don't TRY to drop hints all the time. Normally, it's what someone else says, and I just play along trying to get a reaction of someone.

There was this awareness day at school and there were kids wearing t-shirts that indicated their sexuality and I wore one too and went around school ^^ yay for bisexuality

Its kind of funny for me, because one of my friends knows and the rest are clueless, so occasionally will say some joke about how gay I am, and everyone will laugh it off and my friend that knows and I just get like an extra laugh from it. I wouldn't be overly upset if my friends found out, so I don't worry if I am dropping hints or not.

Not publicly. Privately, I store many clues. Like a science journal with pink, hearts, and PINK HEARTS all over it. As well as a pair of underwear, on the more erotic side of the matter.

On an off-topic note, I need to seriously buy a pink shirt.... badly LOL

My hair is pretty long, and I straighten it and put a lot of effort into it. Not necessarily a gay thing, but a feminine thing I suppose.

The biggest thing for me would be my socks. Every day to school I wear women's rainbow socks, or other crazy colored socks. I show them off to tons of people. So far I've had two that have picked up on the "gay" aspect. One girl asked me if I supported gay pride, and I told her that I was straight and just liked the colors (I had the biggest poker face when I said this). Another time I heard a guy gossiping about my socks (he was whispering pretty loudly).

I also sit with my legs crossed in class, showing off my socks to everybody, lol... I'd say that makes it pretty obvious. Combined with all the other gay things I say, I'd be surprised if more people didn't start picking up on it.

I don't have a journal with pink hearts on it, although I might decorate one now :D. Although I do write some of my notes in pink ink, and I often use pink pencils.
