So pretty much for the last few months I've been thinking of getting circumcised. Personally I think it looks better and runs less of a risk of catching an STD. For those of you that are cut or uncut, what are your thoughts? Thanks

A few things:

1. I do not believe there is any more or less of a risk of developing an STD regardless of whether or not you are circumcised. If you catch one from a partner, it would most likely develop and react the same way, regardless of whether or not there is a foreskin.
2. You should not be asking teenagers on an internet forum to help you with such a decision like this. It's personal enough that it should be done between you, your parents, and your physician(s).

As a teen with a little bit of medical knowledge, I can safely say that it's a simple, low risk procedure that is done all the time. If you really want it done, after discussing it with your doctor, it won't be a very big deal.
Everything stopping time said about the std's is correct.

It think it's great if you wanna get circumsized. It's never too late. And if you wanna do it it's your choice and I think you should go ahead with it.

Circumcision does reduce the risk of getting HIV. It reduces the risk of female to male transmission by about half, however female to male transmission of HIV is rare and circumcision is still no substitute for a condom. The reduction is because the foreskin keeps the glands moist and thus the skin is thinner. It is easier for the virus to enter through the thinner skin. This doesn't reduce the risk of getting HIV From any other route. Circumcision hasn't been shown to reduce the risk of catching any other STI.

The procedure is quite safe, and side effects are rare, but the recovery time is quite long, and can be over a month. Your doctor will be able to give you much more precise details about the procedure.

You should talk to your doctor before making any decisions, and trust your doctor over teenagers on the Internet.

Condoms and common sense prevent STDs. Not circumcision.

The foreskin is a very important part of the male sexual anatomy. You were lucky enough to be spared at birth and you want to cut it off anyway?

Of course, it's your decision, but it's something I would never dream of doing for all the money in the world.

And it's not the pain that would worry me. Being uncut is just too much damn fun. It's something cut guys will never get to experience.

I could continue, but I think I've said enough.

Circumcision doesn't determine whether or not you're more likely to contract an STD.
I wouldn't think about getting it done. I just don't feel the need to.
But it's a personal decision. But you can't go back if you don't like it.

I chose to get circumcised when I was 13. Love the results. There are more things to gain than just less chance to get STD's. if you really want it, go for it and don't wait. I never regreated it one bit.

Girls like cut guys, trust me. I talk it with my friends that are girls, and they say that uncut penises are gross. Their words, not mine, but I'd have to agree. It's more hygienic to get it cut, and for some it's less painful. Do what you really think is right.
