so iv been wearing a bandana around my wrist to cover up my self harm, but i have to perforame in this stupid dance night thing for school next friday and i cant wear my bandana... i have a full dress rehursal on monday and im frecking out because everyone is going to see, iv started to do it on my hips and thighs but relised because of my coustom i have to wear you will prob be able to see these ones to... i hate this i didnt even want to do this stupid dance night!!!

Maybe try putting some patroleum jelly/ vaseline over them (in a thin layer) then covering over the vaseline with makeup. Thats what I used to do for dance recitals when I used to cut. It worked surprisingly well. Or if there aren't to many cuts put some band-aids on them.

Foundation. Foundation is the key. Or you could get a temporary tattoo (the kind that you buy for like 70 cents) if they're too big/dark. Worst case scenario, just fake sick. I don't condone this, but I know how important secrecy is.

You could try and get out of it by pretending to be sick or just saying you don't want to go- if you feel necessary. If you don't want to do that then you could try covering them with make up depending on how recent they are (do not apply make up if they are open wounds).

I know it's really hard to try and cover them all the time and I can go through periods where I'm constantly self concious. It was a huge deal for me to go to school without wearing anything to cover my wrists- no bands, no make up, and a short sleeved t-shirt. But I know that you may not be ready for that. Try hard not to stress yourself out about it and check to make sure that you will be able to see them in case your panicking unnecessarily, you could also check if you are 100% not allowed to wear anything like bandanna's wristbands, sweatbands etc to cover them up.

if i fake sick my teacher will legit kill me... they are pretty bad and make up wont cover them trust me iv tryed... im going to talk to my counsellor tomoz and see if she can contact the school and do something or see if there is anyway i can wear it
