On friday, by second period, my back suddenly started hurting immensely. I couldn't even stand straight, the pain was so bad. (I have really good pain tolerance by the way. I can handle some pretty bad injuries without batting an eyelash).

It started around my lower-middle back, but now its my entire middle-back. The pain isn't as bad as it was on Friday, but I can't sit or stand a certain way without it hurting me. Waking up and getting out of bed in the morning is agonizing, though. If I stand a certain way or sit hunched over a little, I feel almost no pain at all.

What might be wrong with my back? If it persisits, I WILL go see a doctor, so don't give me that advice. I would just like an idea of what it might be and how serious it is, if anyone can help.

What were you doing when it first started hurting? I ask because, not too long ago, a friend of mine was stretching before a soccer game, and suddenly his back hurt insanely bad. Turns out that while stretching, the muscles in his back had suddenly detached from his spine. No clue how that really works/happens, but it could be something similar if you were involved in some sort of activity other than just sitting down when it started hurting.

I think that you should see a doctor, because back pain can be very serious. Just a question, do you carry a heavy backpack? because that the primary source of back pain in teens

If your on your period, it could be period pains. Otherwise, you pulled a muscle or dislocated a vertabra. See a doctor pronto, as you may have fucked your back royally, and that would mean permanant pain. ~holli

Go see a doctor, no-one can make a provisional diagnosis with such limited information, back pain isn't something you play with. But also don't let the uninformed freak you out. But if you don't mind, just give me some more information.

- What were you doing when it started?
- What kind of pain is it? (Burning etc)
- What makes it better/worse?
- Is it deep in your back or closer to the surface?
- Have you noticed any numbness etc?
- Out of 1 to 10 how sore is it?
- Is it steady or does the pain come and go?
- Does the pain radiate to other parts of your body?

- What were you doing when it started?
Nothing strenuous. I was sitting in study hall and decided to walk down the hallway to the library when I first felt it.

What kind of pain is it? (Burning etc)
Searing at times. Like, I can't even move comfortably, especially in the mornings.

- What makes it better/worse?
Stretching seemed to help a little, but only temporarily. I don't think it has gotten worse by anything, but I feel it more depending on how I stand/sit. Hunching over seemed to make the pain go away almost completely.

- Is it deep in your back or closer to the surface?
I guess deeper?

- Have you noticed any numbness etc?
Nope, no numbness.

- Out of 1 to 10 how sore is it?
It's not sore, exactly... Like I said, it only really hurts if my back is erect.

- Is it steady or does the pain come and go?
It sort of "fades" a little sometimes? It might be me getting used to it. If I relax my back for too long, though, it hurts tremendously when I straighten up again.

- Does the pain radiate to other parts of your body?
It pretty much stays around my middle-lower back

It's very hard to diagnose something like that over the internet, see if lying on your back with your legs curled up on a chair helps, that's the only position when there is no weight on your lumbar spine. But I really think you should go see an ortho, I don't know much about your lifestyle so I can't really tell what can and can't be causing it.
It's a good sign that there's no numbness/pins and needles as that's generally a sign of neurological compromise so it does sound like it's more of a soft tissue injury. But I'm only a paramedic so I can't give you much more than that, just also tell me if there's any deformity or hard, tender spots in your back?
