Hey guys. I'd really like for you to read the entire thing.
I hope this post helps other people as well.

So I'm in junior year in my school and most consider it to be the hardest year in the French high school system (mine, even though I'm not French).
Here's the thing: I'm fucking it up.
I guess you could say I'm depressed, no girls blah blah... but that's not an excuse since everybody is nowadays.
Last year I "skipped" 160 classes (that's 160 times 50 minutes = 133 hours ) and I was lucky enough to pass by writing an "I will get better" statement for the principal, and I don't wanna go down the same path again.

Sometimes I skip because I didn't do any homework (studying for tests or graded papers).
I've already "skipped" more or less 3 days this year, all depressive 'n shit while browsing VT from time to time. I still have to do a paper that was due Thursday.

My parents ofc witnessed all of it granted I live in THEIR house, but as far as they're concerned, I'm just systematically "tired" and fall asleep too late at night. I get so sad and disappointed in myself for dishing out promises so compulsively when all I do is miss school next week :(! See how bad it's gotten? I have to resort to smileys to express how I feel.

So now that my useless rant is over, I'd like to (please) be given:
-Methods of working/studying
-REALLY good reasons to work and study

P.S: I consider myself smart (and I have low self-esteem mind you) so it's really just a matter of working. I lack discipline in that.
I'd like for these to be reaaaally good please, as I don't want to fuck up school.

I just remind myself that if I study i'll get a good job. Also my parents nag me, so try getting them to help. As for studying, try making sure your desk (or wherever you would do homework) is organized, and that you write all assignments down and ask teachers for help if you don't understand something. If the class is boring, it may be because you are too smart for it and need to be moved up, so try looking into that. Also some extracurriculars such as science competitions and math contests can help in-school performance in those classes. From what I found, doing your work and going to class is a matter of self-discipline (I used to do the same thing).

I recommend you try talking to a student counselor or a teacher or someone who can help you at school. I know it may seem hard to believe, but most school officials really do want what's best for you. You have to approach them, fess up to your mistakes, talk about what's troubling you, and ultimately, put in the work you need to succeed. You don't need to go through this alone, there are resources in your school you can seek out to help you get back on your feet.
