I wanna get a gaming console to play the recent Fifa 13. But I don't know which one to get. I'm more on the PS3 side cause it's cheaper than the XBox at my local game store. But I don't mind paying extra if it's worth it. Help me guys!

Edit: The poll is supposed to say PS3 not PS#. My bad.

Yes it's more expensive but well worth it. People can hack into ps3 and do all sorts of stuff. I would suggest Xbox 360

What about online multiplayer features? I heard you have to pay to play multiplayer on XBox Live. I'm not sure though. Does Playstation Network have a fee too?

No fees. :)

I prefer the PS3, though the Xbox has a more ergonomic interface. I'm unfamiliar with the latest software, though. I know the PS3 has bluray and is capable of surfing the web.

Why not get the PC version? Fifa isn't a very demanding game.

Even though you have to pay for it, xbox live do a lot of offers for money off and free time and stuff. Also you're paying for a better network quality than PS3 (whose connection isn't great). Technical specification wise, xbox's have double the computing power of a PS3, and that's why it's more expensive :) so get an xbox, the extra money is worth it.

By the way, maybe you should invest the money into an upgraded PC to play games on? Since PC gaming is undoubtly better (graphically, economically and in some ways, ease-of use).

I personally like the PS3 much better than the XBox. Part of it comes from my mistrust of Microsoft, and the other part comes from the fact that you have to pay to be able to pay some more on "XBox Live". If you say that it "saves money" then you probably don't realise that this works similar to how gasoline stations offer different prices for cash and credit card users. Look it up (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=different+prices+for+cash+and+credit) if you don't know what I mean.
And Sony offers it's PlayStation Network for free(as in, no mandatory subscription), with the option of getting the equivalent of this "Xbox Live" at a little extra.
And I like Sony's games better. All the classics like Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, etc. are only available on PS2 and PS3(and the former two on PS3 now as well, as of earlier this year). I love these games, which brings me to prefer the PS3.

That's just me though. You should pick for yourself, and sometimes your local GameStop or equivalent will have a demo console for you to try. See which you like best.

Also you're paying for a better network quality than PS3 (whose connection isn't great).
Come now, that's obvious bullshit. The bottleneck remains in your ISP subscription, the network interface inside each system is capable of going many times faster than what your ISP allows you to use.

Mhmm, assuming that's true(which I doubt), then that's not always a good thing. More power consumption and a tendency to break down earlier, as many people seem to have encountered.

Imo if you play Fifa, CoD XBox all the way.

Personally, I Love the PS3, Although When i Bought it it was more expensive then the xbox, But I wanted it, I Love the blu ray feature, Also Since the disks are blu ray you don't need to change disks if the game is a big game.
Go With What you want, But I personally Recommend The Play station 3

The xbox has double the RAM (not sure about processing) and therefore a less laggy gaming experience, plus I'm talking about PSN itself, not your connection to it. Also, we get the kinect, and let's be honest the PS3 move is the most spectacular ripoff of the wii yet with that weird ball thing on the top of the controllers. In addition xbox's get halo exclusively, and the halo series is a downright classic, and a good one at that.

Xbox all the time. I have both, but PS3 just numbed my mind with its dashboard that was the colour of shit. I had no-one to play with and I missed the party function of xbox. Most of my mates had xbox and we are able to play and speak to each other at the same time

In my opinion Xbox is so much better

You know, it's funny how many games are still able to work perfectly on the PS3, even if what you say is true. The whole reason that the available memory in computer systems has been increasing over the last 30 years is because developers are getting worse and worse at effective memory management. As Bill Gates himself said, "640K should be enough for everybody", back in the good ole' days of DOS.
There is a limitation in the amount of memory you can stuff into a system, because after a while all that memory turns against you when you need to keep a larger portion of it for indexing(keeping track of what data is where in the memory), and those chips will get pretty damn hot after a while.

Memory is not everything you should look at. It's merely one factor to consider.

plus I'm talking about PSN itself, not your connection to it.
The bottleneck still remains at your internet connection; Sony's servers have many more connections to the internet that are many times faster than that of your average Joe.

Also, we get the kinect, and let's be honest the PS3 move is the most spectacular ripoff of the wii yet with that weird ball thing on the top of the controllers.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and the same goes for you. I respect that you think that, and I guess the PS Move isn't for everyone.

If you just want fifa i dont think its going to make a huge difference. Personally i like xbox because online play is better and the controllers are 1000x better.

I've have the PS1, PS2 and the original XBox console. And I've been playing with them again this few days and felt that I prefer the Playstation controller and play better on them. So, since the 2 consoles are like quite similar from the discussion here. I'm gonna decide using the controller's feel. (:

I prefer PC:cool:
If I had to say, I guess PS3. There are some cool exclusives on it.

For me, there's no real difference except the controller. The Xbox controller is more comfortable IMO.

I came here to say this. Most of the few console games I enjoy come out on both, but ultimately, I find the 360's controller fits a lot more snuggly into my nice little hands.
