Don't ever shave with only water- guys or girls, pubes, face, legs, underarms, whatever. The stinging is referred to as razor burn and yeah, it sucks- especially down there. You can't really do much about it, except maybe put some lotion on it, and just know not to do it again.

Man, shaving cream is your friend. :) You have razor burn, which is totally normal.

It's just personal preference. Lol kind of like shaving your face or growing a beard, except people don't see it.

Kris, it might be better to come up with a way to deal with all your curiosity! What you did 'Wrong' is that you took a veeeery sharp object, a razor!, to a veeeeery delicate part of your body, your scrotum!. You're veeeery lucky all you got was razor burn, a temporary irritation caused by the razor taking off the very top layer of skin cells.

Put some vaseline jelly (not lotion, it has alcohol in it which can burn!) on it for a while.
