The latest version of Mozilla's Firefox browser has been taken offline after a security vulnerability was discovered.
Users who had upgraded to version 16 were advised to downgrade to the previous safe release until Firefox developers released a fix.
The vulnerability allowed "a malicious site to potentially determine which websites users have visited", Mozilla said.

Haven't upgraded yet. My Windozer laptop is at 12.0, and my SUSE desktop is at 14.0(I think).
It happens. The developers in Firefox are getting sloppier and sloppier, alas. I still detest Chrome and all that, and I shan't be using anything else until Firefox does not work anymore.

Why do you detest Chrome, Thomas?? I find it the most useful web browser available.
Anyway, thank goodness for Google Chrome and if necessary IE

It is non-free software (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/categories.en.html#ProprietarySoftware), which I avoid when possible. On most GNU/Linux distributions(with the exception of dreadful Ubuntu), you can avoid using all too much of it, so I do just that. I mistrust Google anyways, so if I can avoid using one of their products, I will do that too.
That's just me, though.

On Windoze, in the newer versions: "Firefox" menu > Help > About Firefox
On most other versions: Help > About Firefox
