Before you post, you must understand I have nothing against gays, they are people too.
So I have noticed that there seems too be more gay guys than straight, why is this? Perhaps gays are more open to talk on forums like this one? It's a one in 15 chance of been naturally gay, but there is just so many on this forum? So, what's your opinion? And if you are gay, what caused you to be gay?

It isn't really an opinion. This is a teen help site, with boards that pertain to sexuality during teenage years.
Since LGBTQ people are going to be the ones who struggle with their sexuality the most, it's natural they would be looking for a forum like this.
Oh, and nothing causes you to be gay, bi, straight, whatever.

Virtual teen is a forum people come for help with various things, puberty, depression, self harm and others sexuality being one of those things. There isn't going to be many guys wanting advice because they are straight. I think that's the only reason for the high number of gay people on vt:
Sorry I basically just copied what you said I hadn't seen your post before I started!

Gay people choose to be gay, nothing influences them to be that way.

As other people said, this is a help site. Since many gay people face discrimination, it is likely that they would come here for help.
As for what causes people to be gay, it seems to be a mix of genetic causes and prenatal hormones, but research is still ongoing.

I agree.
Also for gays, I don't think they choose to be or any event made them that way. They're just born that way, like i'm straight, but no particular event made me that way, that's just how I was born.

I personally never chose it. At the beginnings of puberty for me; it was not something I wanted at all.

Gay people choose to be gay
Do you mean choose to accept it, or to actually choose to be gay?
OP: This is a help site, it's more frequent than not that the LGBTQ community need help with their sexuality.
Imagine if someone asked the world, "Why, so many straights?"

Something to add.
Another reason is because it's totally acceptable. I mean, lots of people around you are probably struggling with their sexuality but they don't want to admit it. Here, so many people are so open about it, and it's just nice to see that people around us understand. It's easier for us to ease into being bi gay, straight, curious, pansexual, asexual, etc. :)

Homesexuality can actually be traced back to genetics. While there is currently no "gay gene" that supposedly makes a person gay, it has been proven that in a family with many siblings, the youngest sibling is the most likely out of all to become a homosexual. It's something to do with how the baby developes in the uterus during pregnancy. And people don't "choose" to be gay. They either are gay, or they arn't. And vice versa, you can't "choose" to not be gay. You can cover it up and ignore it, but your feeling will still remain homosexual.

Let's not turn this into a debate on someone's opinion. If you wish to debate another members' opinion, make a thread in the Ramblings of the Wise forum.

I never chose it either. Why would I condemn myself like this?

I don't think it was a hate question, more of a "Why are there so many?"..very harmless, I'm sure.

Like others said, it's a help site. Sexuality is..a very touchy subject among teens, and it can be confusing. It's usually bisexual/homosexual boys. Just..confused people.

Yeah, it's just more likely that teens struggling with their sexuality would search for a forum which helps with that amongst other things. I also think that online forums like this is the best way to meet gay teens your age if there's not many out in your area.
