Evanescence

Who else is infatuated with Evanescence? I mean I have almost all their songs, even almost all of their pre-Fallen songs/albums. I hardly listen to anything else.

I love Evanescence. My sisters listened to them when I was growing up, so that basically hooked me for life.

I'd trash-talk them, but without them I don't know if I'd even be into metal. Not that they're metal. But prior to Evanescence, I listened to 90's pop bands. After Evanescence, it was more pop music, and then came the brilliant day I discovered symphonic power metal. I don't listen to that much anymore, but again, darker sounding music I might have never had taste for.

I do look down on my dad. He has great music taste and an amazing CD collection. And then you get to his Evanescence and Nickelback.

Honestly, if they stuck with their Origin/b-sides sound, I probably would still like Evanescence. They got really bad. Understanding, October, Away From Me, Solitude, Even in Death, etc. I can say I truly like that stuff.

I'm not an expert on music or anything, but I recall having two of this artists' songs on my phone and listen to it every once in a while, and it induces a new and more interesting mood each time I listen to it ! ;]

I know what you mean. some of my favorite songs are in the newer albums but overall I like their pre-Fallen stuff best.

Yeah, they're pretty awesome. My favorite songs by them are "Bring me to life" and "My Immortal"

Okay, I find myself torn when it comes to these because their studio albums are great and I love them, but, live........ whole other story! Amy Lee always seems to be a bit flat everytime I see a live performance.... I just dont get it

I don't like them but down to personal preference i very rarely find a female voice in rock/metal that I enjoy listening to. The only exception I have at the moment is the girl in Skillet and even then she's not the lead singer.
