Ya that's good man for your age and honestly for teens it is really never about weight.
If you want to see real gains early on just do not worry about how much you are lifting and focus on form.
But for reference, I am 15 and bench like 135 but until two weeks ago my training was only muscle endurance on bench.
Now that I am doing a little mix of Wendler 531, PHAT and 5x5 my strength is my focus. So right now I am increasing the weight 5-10lbs each week or two weeks as it is mad easy weight right now.
I will likely go up to 185lbs hopefully within the next 6 months or less and then increase rep ranges again.
Even though I'm talking about weight, what I previously said stands true and that you really shouldn't worry about max benches or on any lift. Only time to worry about weight is to figure out your goals and current progression. Other than that weight is only important for competitions and e-stating.
Keep makin' those gains bro! And, message me if you have questions or training or diet!

Nice! And yeah right now I'm sticking to 100, but I'm trying to see if I can outbench my friend right now. He can do 120, and he's been pushing me hard. Started off only being able to do 75, and now up too 100. I'm also considering to start drinking protein shakes before weights. Do you think that's a good idea?

Ya it's always good to have a little friently competition going on to push yourself.
Anyways, ya protein shakes are good but not necessary. They are the only supplement you should take if any. Only get the good kind though which will be a pure whey isolate such as Dymatize Iso-100. Do not get a cheap brand as it really yields little benefit overall.
Also, do not take them before a workout, you take the afterwards to help aid muscle growth/recovery. The only stuff to take pre-workout is a supplement like creatine/beta alanine/nitric oxide. But as I said no teen should take a supplement so stick with some good foods like a banana or apple around 30minutes before a workout and you will be fine.
What really matters is you diet day by day not the stuff you eat directly before or after the workout.

I've just turned 18 and been training about 2 years and I do 120kg not sure what that is in pounds) for about 5-6 reps usually. Sometimes less or sometimes more depends on my mood and how hyped I am. So I'm not bad for my age but I certainly could be better. I see guys just a little bit older (like 19-20y/o) than me benching like 170 for reps so I wanna be up there with them:).
Remember though in bodybuilding its not what you lift it's what you look like you lift. A bit of friendly competition is good but when your racking on weights you can't handle just to beat the guy next to you it's never good! Also benching is a very over rated lift for measuring strength, if you want to know how strong someone is your better of asking how much they deadlift or squat:)

My bench broke on me so for now I am doing it the original way..The Pullover and Press on Floor, also know as a Floor Press.
So i'm not spilling beans on how much i'm floor pressing but it's lots less then I was bench pressing thats for sure.

Ya I agree. Bodybuilding is the best way to approach training even if you are not trying to step on stage and compete. This is because, no bodybuilder worries about the weights that they use and that is why I always get aggravated when people try to compare numbers.
Kai Greene (Second place Mr. Olympia 2012) does 30lbs for dumbbell curls which is less than almost anyone does and look at where he is at. There is a lot people can learn from bodybuilding as the mentality is much better than that of a 1 rep max PowerLifter.
Bodybuilders get big not because of Steroids but because of their training which is high volume and lower weights. Everyone looking to get big or just fit should train that way and stop worrying about the amount they can lift.

Yeah couldn't agree more it really annoys me when you get the kids in the gym training their ego and nothing else! Yeah I love Kai, he does use heavier weights than 30lbs obviously but certain phases of his training he will use a light weight, that's the great thing about bodybuilding there is such diversity in the way people train and it really shows in the physique that they achieve.

Theres nothing to laugh about, if you can do 65lbs with good form I've got exactly the same respect for you as someone that can do 650lbs with good form and more respect for you than somebody that can do 1000lbs with bad form everyone starts somewhere!

I am just wondering you guys have disregarded the 5X5 training system as a valid way to not only get strong but build muscle then?

LOLOLOLOL 5x5 is what most bodybuilders use at least sometimes in their training. I'm talking about competing against others by how much you lift, caring about what you lift, or going for 1RM. Please don't keep posting useless stuff.

You stated" Bodybuilders get big not because of Steroids but because of their training which is high volume and lower weights"
which is why i posted that about the 5X5.
Oh and how about trying not to be a douche bag? Because you are acting like one!
Oh and how about describing then the correct way in YOUR book to train.

Nope. Right now we arn't doing free-weights( I think that's what you call it, when you don't just use the bar, we have a machine). But no put 90 pounds on each side. What are front squats?

a front squat is where to a bar across your upperchest and do a squat i'll see if i can find a video.

the guy with his arms crossed is doing it the way i learned to do it.
Yeh free weights are the bars, ugh the thought of machines make me cringe.
Machines prevent the stabilizer muscles(the small muscles that come into use during and exercsie) from getting much work.

Yeah. I've been trying to convince our weights coach to allow us to do free weights, but he won't allow us yet. Probably a smart idea I guess....

Not wanting to get into a debate about anything it's way to early in the morning for that, but I did mention above that there are different phases to a Pros training. Meaning that sometimes they will use things like the 5x5 to break plateaus and pack on size but then they need to fully develop the shape of the muscle and for that they will use the lighter weights

Don't worry man, I can't do much more than that either :P
On a good day, I can lift the bar(45-ish? pounds) and maybe up to 65 pounds. I'm not very strong; I'd like to think I have more "brains than brawn", and part of that comes from my laziness and lack of motivation to try. Plus, I can be paranoid, and I'm afraid the bar will land on me and break things(like me, for example).

As long as you have a spotter, you don't have to worry about the bar falling down and "breaking" you. And you don't have to bench to become strong. Pushups, situps, burpies, etc, is what we did for the first half of summer weights this year. Before summer weights, I couldn't lift the bar. After summer, I was up to 90. Now after about 2 months of mourning weights, my max is 115. :D

my sisters 16 and did 60kgWoah, that's truly a great result for a girl, assuming she hasn't been doing powerlifting ? I know many girls who workout, doing routines just for strength, but yet won't benchpress 60kg.
Anyways, i'm 16 years old weighing around 70kg (154lbs) and i benchpress 100kg (220lbs).

I hit 150 on the floorpress yesterday.
The floorpress is the more common way people would do it before the weight bench was invented,or if they didn't have some sorta small bench around the house to lay on.
the ways to do this are:
1) lay flat on the floor and do a pullover and then start pressing,or
2) have the weights resting on 2 blocks lay down head close the the bar ,pull it off the blocks and directly over you're chest and start pressing.
I have been using option 2!
