Maybe it was because our age group sorta grew up with him as Bond really. However I have always thought he was a pretty sub standard James Bond. I mean he played the part okay. I just wouldn't put him in my top three

Umm, I think my top one is Sean Connery because he just sounds cool but Craig is really good too. I felt Pierce Brosnan was ok but great. I've never read the books btw but might someday.

This is coming from somebody who has seen all of the Bond films. In order of prefernce
1- Roger Moore, the funniest bond. Also was the best at presenting bond in the true british light.
2- Timothy Dalton, played the most ruthless bond. Seemed to be best bond for action sequences because of the attitude he brought to it.
3- Sean Connery, made the bond franchise famous.
4- Pierce Brosnan, Goldeye was one of my favourite bond but the rest of his films were poorly written and the franchise was starting to die.
5- Daniel Craig, the idea of a blonde Bond....
6- George Lazenby, a model that got lucky

While Roger Moore did the most with least and Peirce Brosnan was in the best movies, i pick George Lazenby. Cmon he was a model with NO acting experince but On Her Majesty's Secret Service wasnt that bad a movie. Some of those Sean Connery movies are terrible (and so was Quantum of Solace). I think good old George was in a no win situation, he didnt have the chops but the movie isnt half bad.

Goldeneye is a great movie. Probably my favorite bond movie, easily top 5. unfortunitely i get how you think that cuz Tomorrow Never Dies is really not great and die another day is terrible. I love The World Is Not Enough. So like half is movies are just ok but all of the bonds have bad movies. I mean Craig is 50/50 (im seeing Skyfall tuesday)

Those who chose Daniel Craig are obviously don't know the Bond universe in any way.

Daniel Craig is the worst Bond ever (Though I haven't seen Lazenby's movie, so it's maybe him I don't know)

Let's list down the traits of an average Bond movie:
-A car with machine guns
-Supergood gadgets introduced in a Q-Lab
-Villains who actually look like villains
-A fucking Bond gun barrel intro
-A Bond who tries to sneak his way around
-A Bond who makes jokes

NONE of the Daniel Craig movies meet half the requirements I listed above.

Sean Connery was the "classic" bond
Roger Moore was the funny bond who introduced the "pop-Bond" style, rolling down through the enemy bases in a funny fashion, his movies were perfect.
Timothy Dalton introduced the dark side of Bond, I really like him and it is a shame a lot of people don't.
Pierce Brosnan was the modern Bond everyone needed to introduce the Bond universe to the modern world and the beginnings of the 21st century. He could have been perfect, but aside from Goldeneye (and maybe Tomorrow Never Dies) his movies lacked good script.

And that's it. They are screwing and destroying the Bond universe with every movie they shoot (with Craig)

I would have agreed with you last week, but skyfall really does make craig look a lot better. It does include the criteria above, and I think despite the greatness of bond the franchise needed to be changed slightly due to the fact that the brosnan era was critised with over using gadgets and having baddies that look like something from star wars.
